GloatFest is being held in reserve for November. This was more Smug Satisfaction.

LOL. I thought this show jumped the shark years ago but that was pretty great.

I've been working in the New Media since 1994... right from the days of IPOs.

Congratulations, Althouse, on your great coverage of the Walker affair. Your use of the New Media has been awesome.

What happened here is a triumph of the New Media over the Old Media.

My most sincere congratulations, Althouse, on employing New Media to shine the spotlight of truth on the events in Wisconsin.

Every once and a while, an incredible piece of awesome comes from the Daily Show. Now, if they could only do it regularly like The Onion.

GloatFest is being saved for November. This was just Smug Satisfaction Party, BYOB. Blogger eats posts.

If it's now considered "republicany" to balance a budget, I'll take that criticism.

Shout is absolutely right.

And get used to it, this is the way of the future.

PS Welcome back, Shout.

Althouse is the Peggy Olsen of "Madison Men"!

The audience didn't boo the Walker win part..

A conscious effort?

It would have made the show Comesad.

Piers Morgan had Rumsfeld on last night. It was Great to see a real man again.

CNN thenadvertised Scott Walker to be on Piers Morgan tonight.

Piers is not appreciated much, but in his own way he gives credit to the good performers in the GOP too. That is a form of respecting his audience's intelligence, which has not been a normal CNN trait.

He is sort of a polite Simon Colwell. But I sense that all of the CNN guys and gals are reading the handwriting on the wall and tacking right. If The Big Dog can do it, then so can the Clinton News Network.

Alas, no.

Opportunity squandered.

Needs to use it in commerce first - maybe with a tip jar or something. ;)

BTW - are the new "two words" to prove that you aren't a robot driving anyone else crazy here - the photographs of numbers are sometimes insane - like the picture I see now of maybe a zero. Maybe not.

O'Donnell is the classic smug Irish pol.

This is when the Daily Show is @ its best. It's simply too infrequent that they play it straight.

You have to watch these two idiots in action.

Talk about unbelievably stupid.

I've found that you can disregard the picture completely. I've been typing in only the word for days and it's not rejected once.

In certain respects I find Jon Stewart very convincing. It's impossible for me to think about what he gets paid to dream up and deliver zingers like "MSN Be Sad" and not hate the rich a little.

I don't have a high opinion of Daily, I guess you have to have the liberal sensibility though this video wasn't bad.

Jay, hilarious video and the guy that hassled Althouse last year is named Michael Dickman which is entirely coincidental

Somewhere there's a Top 10 list of conservative-sided Daily Show bits, mostly field reporter stuff. It's worth watching if only for the Occupy Wall Street bit about the protestors holding their meetings inside the Duetche Bank atrium.

that girl in pig tails screaming "My capital" is the poster child for the modern left.

I want to see a cage match w/ Rummy and Cheney. Equipped with the new ticker I see Cheney emerging victorious.

Rummy may be a real man but Cheney is THE MAN.

Jon Stewart? Mr. Goofy Face?Meh. A little past his sell-by-date.

Here's my bit on Althouse's (and the New Media's) role in the Walker affair.

Stewart will point out the obvious when it's obvious, no matter his preferences.

Interesting, though, the laugh-lines for the audience. I don't expect that his audience would be heavily conservative. He might get more young-ish people who pretend that they are independent.

Spinelli always has to bring his hatred of the Irish in here...

TV news? No Irish need apply, right? The smug bastards.

Breaking News.... The supporters of the Wisconsin recall effort "Did Not Lose"!

"Who are these people? They're not even from Wisconsin!"

Of course, that wasn't a problem when protesters were being bused in from out of state!

Sometimes, the best comedy comes from real life!

Jay... That was priceless. Thanks!

Jon Stewart can go fuck himself. If we had treason trials, he'd be there and make him answer for everything he's done. Then I'd send him to a re-education camp.

Fuck John Stewart

jungatheart said...

I have a visceral response to O'Donnell's anger. Can't stand him.

William said...

Stewart is blessed with prophetic hindsight. He is always willing to speak out against the excesses and offenses of the left so long as the issuea are moot. As I recall, he never made any jokes about the futility and expense of this recall prior to its defeat....He showed a great deal of tact and discretion when his friend, Anthony Weiner was in trouble. There's nothing funny about a guy named Weiner involved in a sex scandal. Now Sarah Palin talking about drilling in Anwar--that's comedy gold.

Shouting Thomas, ndspinelli. Man, it's getting to be like old times again!

OT - in my opinion at the point a few weeks ago when our Blog Mistress was riffing on Obama's books and the meaning of "faceless" etc she got her groove back. Althouse Blog has been exceptionally good since then. Thanks Ann.

And Ann is not the Peggy Olsen. She is the Joan Holloway. Who is Meade?

It's surprising how old the old media looks. All those SNL types are now the old media. Sort of sad in a survivory kind of way. They didn't live fast and die young leaving good looking corpses. What is the opposite of that? Try to be young radicals way past the sell by date and live for a long time irrelevant?

Saint Croix said...

I love Jon Stewart. He's a reminder that liberals don't have to be utter flaming assholes. Stewart uses mockery and scorn but he always sees the humanity in his targets. He's brilliant at it.

A moby, on the other hand, is annoying and boring. Like the Colbert show is annoying and boring. What is it about liberals that they think this false, phony shit is funny?

"Ha ha you're stupid and I'll pretend to be stupid so we can all laugh at how stupid you are."
