"John Edwards is First Name Uncovered in 'Millionaire Madam' Investigation."

"Most of the women don’t have any idea about the identities of the men they sleep with... How would they know a money man from Wall Street or the face of a lawyer or banker who shows up? But the face of the national politician?... She knew."

Via Instapundit.

Hey, but wait. What if said prostitute thought she was servicing, say... Bono!

"Investigators found the woman credible, but never notified federal authorities, seeing no reason to involve the feds in a low-level local infraction, sources told DNAinfo."

"No charges, however, were ever brought against Edwards because pay-for-play sex is difficult to prove."

-- If only there was a credible witness to the event that investigators had on hand.

Oh, wait.

One of the awesome things about sex is how it humbles the mighty.

Think of the crisis we would be facing if this guy had gotten the nomination and gone on to beat McCain. With all the other bullshit we are facing, we would have a president immensely by scandals of his own making, making it back to back Democrat oval office orifice oglers.

The National Enquirer, or whoever, deserved some sort of notice for their work on exposing him. It is a shame all of their work can't be as good as that.

OK, I'm lying. They're more like stopped clocks than "good work," but I had to see if I could get through with a straight face.

I did not.

True.

But, ironically, he was still more qualified than the affirmative action hire now occupying space in the Oval Office, spending our children and grand-children's money as if there were no tomorrow.

Or voters smart enough to stop him.

Even better than the real thing.

From the article: "The prostitute claiming to have slept with Edwards..."

I'd like to hear more. It would be very unusual for a prostitute to sleep on the job.

The press still can't bring itself to describe sexual activity very well can it? I thought that Clinton at least brought us a little relief from our puritan heritage.

What's wrong here is that it is illegal to pay for sex (directly at least).

If prostitution were legal, it would be easier to protect sex workers and more tax revenue would be generated.

More abortions, too! So it's a win-win-win.

Also, with government regulation, we can keep track of all the johns and then line 'em up for a DNA test. And the lucky winner gets to pay 18 years of child support.

Choice! We love it.

I've always wondered whether there was an "understanding" between the Breck Girl and his wife about his going to other women because of her cancer (she got mad because he couldn't keep it quiet). This would appear to vindicate it.

Because we all know prostitution is a victimless crime, right?

Not an expert, but I assume that most sex workers use condoms. If not, another good reason to regulate prostitution.

I don't see high priced "escorts" as victims.

Legalizing prostitution would decrease the black market conditions that create the real victims, sex workers that are forced to prostitute themselves because of force (sex slaves)and drug addiction.

We heard that in the 70s. Some cities tried it.

Nothing changed.

Edwards was simply subsidizing another woman's birth control pills, just like Ms. Fluke but without the pretense. That Johnny, what guy, supporting working girls everywhere.

Well, crap.

I hope this doesn't scare off Rielle. Rumor has it they are thinking of marrying.

And that would be hilarious.

Saint Croix said...

They're also fucking, what, six times a day? So if you figure a 99% success rate with the condom, that means your sex worker is pregnant in two and a half weeks.

You've heard, of course, Ms Fluck is considering a run for public (if not pubic) office the second she graduates.

Well, looks like she's upholding the Halo Joe tradition.

If Edwards skates going to jail he should dump Rielle and hook up with Fluke. Truly, a match made in heaven, a working girl and her John.

Ah. I see what you did there.

The thing about Edwards, for me anyway, is he is the type of politician for whom these personal scandals would really work to harm the country. this is a guy who denied paternity of his daughter, publicly repudiating her. Had he been elected President, his history shows that he lacks discretion, and his behavior shows that he is easily subject to blackmail.

Yeah, I'm not always convinced that personal failures should disqualify a guy. For Edwards, he has shown himself utterly unfit for any office (including Father), let alone the Presidency.

Edwards is the prostitute.

I like Jim Gaeraghty's line that anyone who voted for Edwards in 2008 must, as penance, wait two election cycles before being allowed to vote again because of the severe inability to judge character.

I don't know why women or juries fall for people like him.

Your math is fine. You may want to brush up on human reproduction though.

My math is fine? I was worried about my math.

Are you adding days for sperm travel?

Palin, however, will remain as the dictionary definition of "unvetted". Good grief.

Apparently a man can impregnate a woman faster than your pizza will arrive.

But of course. She already expects us to pay for her sex life. Why not add parking, franking privs, meals, clothing, health insurance, retirement, etc.

Idiot boy obviously is shilling for GodZero, the textbook, dictionary, and pictorial definition of unvetted.

bandmeeting said...

Methinks you misunderstand me.

Palin had more horse sense and executive experience than the other three fools in the 2008 election combined yet the MSM will continue to push the line that she was unvetted.

It's related to one of the themes of this election cycle: the weak candidates that the GOP puts forward. Yeah, the Dema are at a loss as to which genius to choose for their side of the presidential race, year after year.

Craig said...

If all he wanted was sex, he could probably have found that in the lobby or the hotel bar for about one tenth of the price. What he paid for was discretion. He's entitled to a refund.

Then she'd be doing pro bono work, I guess.

(Is that what you were looking for, prof?)
