Vernal shoots early, risking a frigid rebuff.
Look more like crocuseseseses. But I'll take your word for it.PS Just saw Peter Breck had died about 3 weeks ago.Good actor.Damn, I hate seeing my childhood get old.
You know how we think we know something and because we don't go on trivia shows nor is it likely to come up in witty romantic comedy conversation.. some of us may never find out.. until yesterday.. I thought Rin tin tin was the dog.Imagine my surprise when in The Adventures of Tintin (2011)..Is it possible that Spielberg could not get the rights? So he just changed a few things to avoid going to court?JAC probably knows ;)
We call them Jonquils in Dixie. Their job appears to be marking the garden areas under the snow after a mid February snow storm. They are a most beautiful yellow flower. As kids we put some picked Jonquils into a vase with blue food colored water and that made their veins blue.
Today Rush asked listeners to join Twitter..The idea of a response to Bill Maher was the first thing that crossed my mind.Enough people retweet Rush and there is no telling.. it is at times like this when my baseball superstitious instincts come in handy.. briefly.. if I imagine something good - the worst thing happens.. but if I imagine something bad.. something good happens.Rush Tweets are going to be as silent as a donut serving unicorn on the tip of the space shuttle Atlantis.
Lem said...Today Rush asked listeners to join Twitter.Trooper York started tweeting today too. There must have been a third, but I'm not privy.
Where I grew up it was on the edge of too cold for daffodils and roses... only the really motivated gardeners could grow them, and they always seemed extra special because ours never made it. Tulips were easy. Now my daffodils are easy, and nothing eats them, and it seems like the tulips are special.
I think this sums up the Fluke/Limbaugh/Maher controversy rather succinctly
There must have been a third, but I'm not privy. It was me ;)I'm @Lemang01.. please dont follow me, I'm too paranoid.
One of my earliest memories is of me at about age 3 discovering daffodils poking through the snow in my back yard. It excited me then as a signal of the coming spring; it still does. I don't know how I knew at that age about seasons, but the memory is very vivid. I still think of it often at this time of year. Spring is one of those things in life that's just all good.
I must be getting old, or old-fashioned, because I don't tweet-mainly because my daily life is even less intersting than celebrities who think they have something worth tweeting about. Also, WTH were the creators of Windows 8 thinking with their desktop version?BTW, Snoopy is "The Dog" at least as far as I'm concerned : )
Ah, March. A great time of year. Early shoots coming up, days are getting longer, and Obama is busy watching college hoops rather than mucking things up. A nice respite from winter.
...we're just getting started.Funny, I thought we were almost finished,...
Quaestor, LOL.I am Breitbart.A fitting start, this early spring, even here in WNY.Tulips, crocii, and daffodils are a shooting.#IamBreitbart
Gary, the mormon kid on South Park to Stan... "Look, maybe us Mormons do believe in crazy stories that make absolutely no sense, and maybe Joseph Smith did make it all up, but I have a great life, and a great family, and I have the Book of Mormon to thank for that. The truth is, I don't care if Joseph Smith made it all up, because what the church teaches now is loving your family, being nice and helping people. And even though people in this town might think that's stupid, I still choose to believe in it."Just showing the reverse of the coin Crack's flipping.I agree with a lot of what Crack sez. But I also think the situation would be worse if people didn't have faith in God. Lord knows we have little enough faith in each other.I do have a question for Mr. Crack though...Do these cult watches monitor the Catholic Church, Islam, and Protestantism? In other words, are all religions classified as cults? And if so, shouldn't the atheist non-belief system be classified as a cult too? One of the definitions of a cult is a group of people bound together by the veneration of the same ideal...ie)a non belief in a deity.
I don't follow people on twitter. I got enough on my plate with just my life.Or maybe I'm just saying that so Lem won't think I AM following him.Or maybe I said THAT to make Lem think I am following him when I'm not.Or maybe I said that to make...Lem...thi...What was I saying?
You all have noticed how unfriendly Fox is to Romney and they keep propping up the other two losers. I think Murdoch is throwing the election to Obama. I think he has made a deal with the devil and sold his soul. It is about Obama's DoJ not going after him about all the email hacking (that was in UK but don't know what his vulnerabilities are here). Of course I am just an observer trying to put 2 and 2.
No daffodils shoots yet, but they'll be here soon. Wonderful weather. Potential thunderstorm tomorrow. I like thunderstorms. The threat of snow hangs on until late April, however.
"And if so, shouldn't the atheist non-belief system be classified as a cult too?"Was having this type of discussion last nite with my wife and teenage son.My son attends high school and was sharing his conversation with other students that self-identify as 'atheist'.I pointed out that atheism is also a faith-based belief system, in that there exists no higher power. So go ahead and pick your faith-based system. IMHO, many default to politicos/party. For them, faith goes as far as what they 'receive', nothing more. Quite sad and self-limiting.
Are people who don't beleive in Bigfoot also part of a faith-based beleif system?
I've used yahoo as my home page since forever, but I hadn't noticed that they moved to the left of MSNBC. Has it always been thus, or are they just rooting for Obama this election cycle? It's so heavy handed it's actually amusing.
"I've used yahoo as my home page since forever, but I hadn't noticed that they moved to the left of MSNBC"I've noticed the left-leaning slant for a long time. The presumptuousness and cheerleading for the progressive mind set is alive and well at this portal.I too have used Yahoo as a starting point for a long time. Suggestions for a more 'balanced' home page???
"Don't Tread 2012 said...I too have used Yahoo as a starting point for a long time. Suggestions for a more 'balanced' home page???"Google.com. It's a big world out there. (Not google news!)
Curious GeorgeThanks but I was looking for something a little less obvious!!!Perhaps you might try being even more, well, 'curious'??? ;)
Fox has gotten so bad about letting things slide by this administration that I no longer watch it. And I was a dedicated viewer for almost 20 years. I do believe some one in the FCC told Murdock to reign it in, or they would lose their license.O'Reilly has been especially egregious in this, and I no longer have any respect for the man. Hannity was just a talking head, never impressed me greatly, and Van Sustern never goes for the big fish. I like Sheperd Smiths reporting, and their Wasington guy is okay(can't think of his name off hand). But getting rid of Beck perked my ears up, and then when they let the Judge go my radar went fully active. When the "conservative" voice in broadcasting lets go its 2 most prominant conservatives, something is afoot.Ps. O'Reilly is NOT a conservative. Took me years of watching to finally peg him. He is a libertarian.
O'Reilly is NOT a conservative. Took me years of watching to finally peg him. He is a libertarian. If so, then he is the only libertarian I know of that supports the War on Drugs.
O'Reilly never struck me as a libertarian. He never seemed quite conservative either, but that's okay. Everyone ought to be more or less their own thing.
