And when little Matt Damon goes to vote in 2012, rest assured he will vote for Obama.

This is rather enjoyable though:

"I've even let down my key core constituency: movie stars," the President joked. "Just the other day, Matt Damon — I love Matt Damon, love the guy — Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw ‘The Adjustment Bureau,’ so — right back atcha, buddy."

Just imagine if Obama's supporters had understood what political speech was to begin with.

This desire for Obama's supporters to switch the blame to anyone and anything but themselves and their own stupidity is really getting tired,...I mean, Matt Damon?

Look in a mirror, buddy,...

I agree with this statement 100%...starting in January 2013.

Something isn't adding up here.

Damon:

"I've talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, 'Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politican,'" Damon told the publication. "You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."

Obama:

"I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R., and Lincoln — just in terms of what we’ve gotten done in modern history."

Sounds like Matty needs a hug!

What exactly does Damon want that he didn't get, and how would that change anything for the better?

What really bothers him is that his guy is a failure, despite spending more than any president in history, passing health care, getting out of Iraq, killing Bin Laden, taking over American companies, and adding plenty of regulation.

He got what he wanted, and is pissed because it was the wrong things to do, period. Knowing that deep in his subconscious forces him to blame Obama as a last resort to avoid admitting his own mistakes, his own stupidity.

What exactly did he want Obama to get done? He did all the things he said he would. Mandate universal healthcare, get out of Iraq, expand AIDS funding worldwide, send American money to the IMF and into Europe, run America down worldwide, open the border with Mexico, fly around a lot and stop smoking in public, plus kill Bin Laden. What exactly did Damon want to add to the list?

Damon's characters get a lot done in the Bourne Conspiracy series. But that's just a movie series.

The problem with Obama is he's done a lot of things but except for killing OBL, it's all the wrong things. He's an extremely crafty man who accomplishes all kinds of things and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets himself elected leader for life.

Wince said...

Obama doesn't have balls.

Matt Damon likes balls.

Christopher in MA said...

"What exactly did Damon want added to the list?"

An end to representative democracy, Kirby, though he's too stupid to realize that's what he wants, and, if he knew that's what he wants, wouldn't have the balls to say. A 'one term president with balls,' to Damon, is a Rameses the Great, someone who just imposes his will on the country, courts and Congress be damned.

Obamacare? Eliminate Keystone? Confiscate private guns? Take 401K monies to fund the Imperial government? Occupy a bank and empty out the savings accounts of the evil super-rich? So let it be written, so let it be done. That is what Damon and his ilk want. They do not want an opposition party, nor anything but state run media.

Now, to be honest, that's exactly what I want. But on the other side. Nothing would please me more as president than to outright take 99% of Damon's wealth for no other purpose than being a 'president with some balls.'

Oh, and really - "right back atcha, buddy?" Really? Every time I think this coke-addled Kenyan can't degrade the office of the presidency anymore, he drops trou and shows off his ass yet again.

In the end his ultimate argument was this: Things can only get better after Bush.

Deniro said he supported Hillary and this stupid Damon with all self righteousness said Obama. Look where he is today. What happened in primary 2008 between Hillary and Obama will stay with us forever. We were right to the extent that Obama had no experience and would be overwhelmed and they were wrong and stupid. "So, John McCain would have been better?"

Yes, quite obviously so.

McCain, despite his many and manifest flaws, wouldn't have cannibalized the future with unprecedented debt as Obama has, nor would he have promoted policies and regulations strangling the engine of America's wealth, power and standard of living: the private economy.

That 53% of American voters somehow deluded themselves into thinking this least experienced nominee for president in the entire history of the US, with an extreme, out of step liberal agenda, would somehow serve as a barely functional, let alone transforming president, boggles the mind.

Damon shouldn't be mad at Obama; he should be mad at himself for buying an empty bag of gas.

Obama pushed the country as far left as he could with a very liberal House of Reps and w/o a veto proof majority in the senate.
He passed Obamacare w/o a GOP vote, the stimulus w/o a GOP vote, he installed a hard core racialist as AG, and he unilaterally decided against defending a law passed by congress and signed by a US president (DOMA).
When the People rejected his hard-left governance they elected a GOP congress in a turnover of historic proportion.
Yet there is a notion held by many on the Left that Obama is a political moderate. This is objectively false.
I suppose that Damon shares this illusion.

We don't know how Hillary would have turned out. But in the information we had about the candidates in 08, Hillary and Obama, we did conclude rightly that Obama would call 'present', he was lazy and not all that smart, he didn't have any experience working with other people, and he was surrounded by corrupt Chicago machine (Jarrett is one face of it). On the other side of the coin, we knew Hillary had excellent work ethic, she had the right goals to help people on the street (she had excellent policy solutions to help the economy) and given her husband's legacy of peace and prosperity (that even Republicans laud now), she would not have been much different from that. There is evidence that she worked well with Republicans in the Senate and she would have reached out and worked with a Republcan congress to address issues with economy. Listen to Bill Clinton now offering centrist solutions on the economic problems. Why would she have been any different? One more thing, she does not play golf and hide from problems.

What’s more, they were equally certain Obama’s rescue plan was hopeless. It was a foregone conclusion, they said, since government intervention in the marketplace is always a disaster. Mitt Romney, in particular, said policymakers should “let Detroit go bankrupt,” and called the administration’s plan “tragic.”

For folks like Damon, it seems (based on their own statements) that they will only be happy with a circa 1945 USSR-type economy.

Obama on the other hand wants to claim that he is a very successful President. And from one perspective, he was very successful. Against the wishes of a majority of the population, he pushed through a program that if implemented will utterly socialize (i.e. destroy) US healthcare. I'd call that a pretty big success for him. Therein lies the dichotomy.

Sorry if this has been posted on Althouse recently, but Damon's quote about balls reminded me of Betty White's quote: “Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding” Obama - weak and sensitive. Hillary - can take a pounding.
