NEW YORK POST: STINKING EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR

Read the article. It's incredibly stupid. It's chock full of the primary problem with the left: acceptance of unexamined ideas as the truth. Ideas no more thought through than a newborn's cries for the teat. I think I found nearly every sentence to be complete bullshit. Statements of exactly the opposite of the truth delivered with righteousness. How do you get that deluded? I'll bet he was standing in a puddle of urine when he wrote the headline.

Apparently fantasy football is a bourgeois plot to oppress the proletariat. The things you learn on HuffPo!

Like the NYT is going to report any truth that makes OWS look bad.

I don't buy their headline or their spin. Why should I?

Oh, it's HuffPo. Even more so to my previous post.

This is newsworthy? (If it's even true.)

No one's asking you to "buy their headline or their spin;" this is one man's description of his experience(s) at and opinion about Zucotti Park. You can read it and appraise it yourself for any logical fallacies, factual errors or apparent fabrications, etc.

But, why do you buy your own spin? What in the article do you perceive to be false (or "spin"), and what do you know about the facts that leads you to assume the reporter is being dishonest?

The most disgusting part is that bums come here, and deface property. Are given free tents. And, food. And, tarps. And, heaters. And, whatnot. At no cost to them.

Yup. Poking Americans in the eye when they buy outdoor equipment.

And, where they'd never be allowed to just spread out inside any of our wonderful public parks.

Okay. We're told the Zoo-cotti is private. The city's "gift" to the developer.

Just in case you were looking for "mathematical" balance.

Sure. A creative headline.

But not true.

The unbathed individuals can stink so much they probably by now smell "more french" ... than just the stench of feces and urine.

Mayor Blooming and the politicians at City Hall are all responsible. Maybe, they'll get elected away like Anthony Weiner? Is his wife still pregnant?

Shouting Thomas said...

I've been to OWS several times. I perceive it for what I saw. It's pretty silly.

The article is full of hatred of the "white right" by a guy who, I pretty sure, is very white.

The usual. Trying to prove that he loves black people more than any other progressive on earth. That's always the progressive BS, isn't it? They're better than the bad, racist white people, because they're the good kind of white people who hate racist white people.

In short, this guy is a complete liar, and close to psychotic.

Reminds me of cows.

But the wind has to be right.

The strident hatred of that article is just monstrous, Kookie.

The public zeitgeist is awful right now. I don't know what to make of it. A malicious desire for revenge and bloodletting is in the air.

You can like or dislike the NY Post and the Murdoch media empire, but it's not devil incarnate. Nor is it slanted in its news coverage. It is more reliable than the NY Times for straight news.

Sometimes, the public realm breaks down into madness. I see it happening. The desire for scapegoats right now is blood curdling. This moron of a writer expressed it very well.

Woods wants violence and bloodshed. I see it in the tone of his writing. He's hungry for bloodshed and mob violence.

Fortunately, I can retreat to my house in Woodstock.

Yep. At first I thought is was satire in the style of The Onion....then I realized this bozo was serious.

Despite the desire to make fun of them, this "haves and have not" meme that Obama is pushing is seriously scary.

At what point do we draw the line between have and have not? The idea being indoctrinated is: that if someone 'has' that they stole it from someone else and that the person who 'has' deserves to be destroyed, robbed and their [wealth, goods, businesses.. whatever] taken and redistributed.

How dare you HAVE when I do not. GIVE IT TO ME!!

Where do you draw the line on who is a 'have' and who is 'not'? Yachts and all the trappings of the very wealthy.....or are we going to divide it merely by who drives a nice car, owns a house, takes vacations, wears good clothing or jewelery?

My Dad and Step-mother live in a multi million dollar house in a beautiful sea side town in California. Are they they HAVES and should be punished? After all they have a house worth MILLIONS.

The house was bought in the 1950's at a modest price for those days and the upper floor flat and the basement apartment were rentals for years to help supplement my Step Mother's single mother status with three small children and some menial jobs she was able to have. The house is worth multi millions of dollars because property values in the area have gone up...a LOT. My father worked all his life in a trade and was only able to retire early with a cash pay out and no pension plan because the Union and the trade-job he had was eliminated.

They have less material goods than most of the young protesters 'camping' out in Zuccotti Park. They are frugal with what money they have.

Who are the 'haves'? Who gets to decide and decide what to do about it?

No good will come of this.

Ditto bagoh20 and DBQ.

-I saw a good neighbor policy written out, which calls for respectful dialogue and zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol and a call for respect for property and proper hygienic practices and such. Not much mention of that in and on your Murdoch outlets, eh?

Through is own words in the same paragraph (and throughout the article), he contradicts what he speaks of with admiration.

-I saw a sign that said, "We're Here, We're Unclear, Get Used To It." Amen. The angry white right can't find one leader to smear and it infuriates them to no end.

More racism and (un)"respectful dialogue" in the next paragraph.

-I saw hundreds of people who want change, for the common good. I saw people who deserve a bunch more respect than any yahoo, always an employed person who doesn't have to sweat being unemployed, or their health insurance getting cut off, who barks, "Just get a job!" at them.

So the writer knows all about these peoples employment and insurance just from seeing them drive by and shout?

Michael Woods lives within his imagination and spouts it as reality. True idiocy.

Carol_Herman said...

It's a stink hole.

It's a breeding ground for disease.

And, let's say, a current "occupier" comes down with a deathly illness. Oh. And, has no real health insurance.

How many people can sue the building's owners for letting the occupation "happen" ... without the hanitorial services that are provided "inside the building?"

Given that most of us think its safe to go into buildings. And, as a witness, Mayor Bloomberg will just shrug. And, say "he never got the call he needed from the building's owners?

Wouldn't the lawsuits be huge?

Wouldn't the building's owners be facing "problems" long after the "occupiers" are cleared out? Or drop like flies?

"Where do we draw the line between the haves and the have nots?"
The protesters consider themselvesthe have-nots of course, but the actual homeless consider them the haves.
P J O'Rourk wrote about military coups, if the generals revolt what stops the Colonels from thinking they can do better? Thats why you ended up with captains and Sergeant-Majors running countries.
The line always gets drawn lower and lower. What would the protesters think of a world where the "the rich" are people with twoacres and a cow? What side of that line are they on?

Robert Cook said...

As for DBQ's disquisition on the "have and the have-nots and how do we draw the line?", the OWS protesters are not what you stereotype them to be, mere commies or garden variety socialists, (although there may be those among the larger cohort), and they have not issued any across the board condemnations of wealth or capitalism, as such.

They express a frustration and disgust with the way in which wealth is being redistributed from the 99%--that is to say, all of us--to the 1%--through cheating and thieving rather than through honest effort or production of productive goods and services.

In other words, they do not necessarily abhor the game, but that the game is fixed.

You may disagree with their view that this is the way things are but do not misrepresent (or misunderstand) what it is they're actually protesting.

It doesn't take any imagination to dismiss a movement by raising the specter of it being rife with commies. It's so boring, why not say they are Rastafarian insurrectionists or satanic anarchists, that's much sexier.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

First of all this division of 1% versus 99% is facile and frankly stupid.

Second: You need to make a distinction between wealth and income. They are NOT the same thing. One might lead to the other but not necessarily.

Third: I am more frustrated by my income being taken and redistributed to those who won't make an "honest effort or production of productive goods and services". The welfare state is eating us up alive. We are paying people NOT to work and be productive. The OWS crybabies are all about Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie and wanting to take from those who they have been mind fucked into thinking are the enemy when the real enemies are the ones directing their actions.

Do I agree with some of the gripes and whining that the supposed 99% are doing. Sure. There is way too much congruence between government and crony capitalism. The government is the cause of the problem.

I don't agree with their methods. They have no plan other than to create chaos and literally shit all over everything. They have no consideration for the negative repercussions of their actions on the ordinary working people who are losing their jobs, businesses, livelihoods because of their mindless mob activities.

They are being used by the same forces that they are too STUPID to protest against.

Until the OWS useful idiots wake up, come up with a logical plan, have a purpose.....I would just as well like to see them all expire....literally. Yes. Literally.

Robert Cook:

1.3% of Americans made more than $200,000 in 2009. Their average was $412,000.

If we increased their tax rate by 10% points, the govt would take in an extra $79 Billion.

If we divided that up and gave it to all of the Americans who reported less than $200,000, they would each get about $500!

Is that what you want Robert?

Monkeyboy said...

They express a frustration and disgust with the way in which wealth is being redistributed from the 99%--that is to say, all of us--to the 1%--through cheating and thieving rather than through honest effort or production of productive goods and services.

I think that the top 1% is 350K a year. So none of those people are honest workers?
This is how it historically goes, we kill and eat the top 1% and then those in the top 2% become the new 1%, so we kill and eat them since we still aren't happy. Eventually we go speeding right past the level where the protesters are and and up talking about the evils of the Kulaks because they have three pigs instead of the good honest two comrades should have.

Would the protesters be happy if someone lower on the economic scale got to pick who the haves are? Whats so magical about 1%? What about those evil ivy league grads in the top 10%? We know the answer to that one because they have already refused to share their REI tents and veggy lasagnia.

One good comment I read is that these are the 2% who thought they were guarenteed a spot in the 1%, and are mad that their class brothers on wall street haven't helped them.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

"I" haven't stereotyped them as anything other than morons and useful idiots with a generous sprinkling of criminal, huckster, drug addled and mentally ill. Just like every other protest and hippie dippie movement from the 60's. Some things never change.

Probably some of them are socialists, as best they understand the term. Some are probably Marxists. The controlling elements behind the movement are something other than the participants.

Written by my son in law Dave, in town for Veterans Day ceremonies, on his Facebook Page:

Dear Occupy Wall Street
by David Harbuziuk on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:33am

I walked by your camp in Zuccotti Park on Wednesday on the way to the National September 11th Memorial. My nose was offended by your smell, my ears were offended by your terrible drum circle (more cowbell!) accompanied by a random smattering of wind instruments that climbed to 100 decibels, my intellect was offended by your signs full of conspiracy theories, and my sense of tolerance was offended by your anti-semitic signs. That night I heard a story on the local news about noise complaints from residents in the area, especially from the parents of children who walk by there to go to school.

On Friday morning, just 3 miles away, I stood next to the Eternal Light Monument in Madison Square Park in my dress blues with my trumpet in my hands. I was waiting to sound Echo Taps with Peter Sutorius, also in dress blues and holding a trumpet, who was about 50 feet to my left. A few hundred feet a way from us were other members from our band, playing patriotic music, serving their country with their gifts and talents.

We were there, with our drums and wind instruments, to honor numerous people in and around the park. People like Nicholas Oresko, the oldest living Medal of Honor recipient, Marine Cpl Aaron Mankin, a wounded warrior who has endured nearly 60 surgeries to reconstruct his face but who wears the scars with as much pride as he wears his uniform, and thousands of other veterans and active duty service members.

As I was waiting to play, a police officer was talking to someone nearby about the Occupy Wall Street Camp in Zuccotti Park, about unreported rapes, larceny, and unsanitary living conditions. I thought about how the thousands of taxpayers around me at that moment support the military and military music and how when we hear from parents of schoolchildren or the schoolchildren themselves, they thank us for playing our music, thank us for serving, thank us for instilling pride, thank us for being the face of the military to them, and thank us for honoring ideas and ideals that have clear, defined, and honorable (though difficult) goals, purposes, and plans.

I want to thank you, Occupy Wall Street, for exercising your first amendment rights - the rights that honorable men and women have fought and died for, that honorable men and women continue to die for, and that mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters send their loved ones off to defend.

Thank you for making me even more proud of the United States Military. I guess you have done something positive after all.

Yes.

Please explain how throwing 78 year old women down the stairs, pissing on a woman's hot dog cart, putting people out of work because they can't get to their jobs or the small restaurant they used to work at went out of business because of the filthy raucous protesters, closing down the port and keeping independent truckers who get paid by the run (not the hour) from making a living, breaking the windows of small business store fronts, incessantly beating on drums, crapping on people's door steps and destroying private property.............

A must: Howie Carr, on Occupy [Harvard Yard].

So let me get this straight: Harvard students are “occupying” the Yard to protest how the 1 percent keep the 99 percent in economic servitude. But the Crimson protest against capitalist oppression is by invitation only, and all the gates on campus have been locked, chained and padlocked to keep out the real 99 percent?

Occupy Harvard? It’s more like Occupy Gated Community.

Monkeyboy said...

Likewise, there is growing consternation over the group’s finances. The more than $500,000 that OWS has raised from supporters is in the hands of a shady eight-person finance committee, which is made up of “non-occupiers” who have a right of veto on proposals before they get to the General Assembly and are, thus, “becoming like the banks we are protesting.”

From National Review. "Boxer" is the name of the horse from Animal Farm who does all the heavy lifting and then is sent to the knackers yard when he can't work anymore. That's these kids.

You know, I've seen advertised sprays you can use in your bathroom. So after you stink it up, you just spray the john until it is "odor free."

As to the "news" that you can't smell urine or feces at Zoo-cotti Park ... I'd then guess the people who were judges all had colds. And, their noses were stuffed.

Or they were fans of french dheese. In which case ... they went down there and thought they were smelling "perfume."

What gets me, though, is that freeloaders just show up with tents. And, squat. Because there were politicians who gave these freeloaders a free ride on private property space!

When will the owners of the Zoo-cotti park have to call in the city's sanitation, fire and poice, to clean out the human infestation?

Will we get to elections, first?

Or lawsuits?

If you don't have health insurance. And, you get sick enough. You could sue the private property owners for any ill that befalls you.

Lawyers don't bring smells into the courtroom, ya know. They bring in evidence of "foul play."

The jurors will need to wear hospital face masks, not to breathe in the evidence.

I think this Occupy crap is a major fail.

Maybe, a politician, running for office against an incombent ... will only need an ad where a spray can goes off?

"In a video posted Wednesday, Shavies said police should be siding with the protestors. "I'm a police officer," he told interviewer Justin Warren. "I'm part of the 99 percent... it's more than financial, what they're talking about... it's bigger than just money. It's about inequality."

Condemning his fellow officers in the Oakland Police Department for their heavy-handed tactics, Shavies defended his role as an undercover cop in the movement as part of his job description. His role, he insisted, was to identify agitators, precisely so the Occupy movement can continue. His desire to set the record straight, and to show his support for the Occupy movement, prompted him to speak out."
