Attacks upon the neck.

Talk of a high-tech lynching got me thinking about the neck attack that made the news here in Wisconsin last June. Do you remember? State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser was said to have put Justice Ann Walsh Bradley in a "chokehold." There was an investigation, a special prosecutor, and a decision against bringing criminal charges, but there was also an investigation by the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, concentrating on judicial ethics, which nobody seems to talk about anymore.

Back in August, I wondered about the way nobody was talking about the Judicial Commission anymore, perhaps because the criminal investigation made it seem that Bradley was the aggressor and Prosser reacted in self-defense. When the tables were turned, the noise died down, but when there were only allegations that Prosser was the aggressor, protesters vilified Prosser:
This is the level of left-wing activism we witnessed here in Madison. A justice is despised because his decisions do not please liberals, and so, without thought, they forgot about things liberals like to love themselves for caring about, such as fairness and due process....

[Isthmus blogger David] Blaska demands apologies from people who should be "ashamed of their lynch mob mentality." He names the "practitioners of the dark arts of 'by any means necessary.'"
Speaking of turning the tables, liberal hypocrisy, and David Blaska, he's writing about a new incident here in Madison:
A Dane County prosecutor says she believes Madison Ald. Brian Solomon sexually assaulted a city employee who is assigned to work with the common council. But the district attorney's office won't bring him to trial only because, it says, getting a unanimous jury to convict would be chancy....

Is the Left calling for Ald. Solomon to resign? Not that I can tell. No righteous indignation from The Capital Times. Crickets at Madame Brenda's Forward Lookout website. No protest rallies in front of the Capitol. The drum circles are silent.

The Former Kathleen, County Supes Melissa Sargent and Diane Hesselbine, and Madison Ald. Lisa Subeck suffered no such reticence in organizing a shouting, chanting Capitol rally on July 12 demanding that Supreme Court Justice David Prosser resign for allegedly choking fellow Justice Anne Walsh Bradley. They did so even as the legal system was in the midst of a careful, detailed inquiry. No, the feminist lynch mob could not wait for due process....

Why the differing responses? We know why, don't we class? Brian Solomon is a liberal, he's Progressive Dane for chrissakes! He's for the victim (even if he creates some of them).

So we only try cases where conviction is somehow guaranteed? Tell me what the jury's for again?

Good rant, professor. You're high on the Dennis Miller rant meter w/ this one but you need more sarcasm to get to the highest level. Actually, what really makes Miller's rants so good are the delivery, I don't think they would translate to page. I could visualize you saying what you wrote and I surmise that is the extent of your comfort level.

I'm keeping score and this travesty is #487,239 on the hypocrisy count.

Slow, but sure, beginning with Gloria Steinbrenner giving Willie a pass because he supported the feminist agenda, the hypocrisy of the Left is doing as much to destroy them as their failed policies are.

"Off with their heads" is a command to sever the neck.

That really stops free speech instantly, since the head contains the thoughts that are spoken.

Heretics sometimes have tongues cut out, but a quick swing of a scimitar or a Guillotine does the job better because the guy cannot even blog ideas in writing either after that.

Can a civil suit be filed against Brian Solomon?

Also interesting that Cain's campaign manager, the cig smoking Mark Block, was "banned from politics" in Wisconsin for three years from masterminding the plot to funnel illegal money into the reelection campaign of a Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice.

MadisonMan said...

Alternatively, could Solomon file a defamation of character suit against the DA? It would be a horrible, horrible idea, politically (but what a juicy blogging opportunity).

If you can't convict, presumably there is some innocence or benefit of doubt involved. The DA should have shut her mouth.

So? Politics ain't beanbag. Personally, I'm all in favor of illegality and dirty tricks. I want your filthy party destroyed, whatever it takes. But you go ahead and clutch your pearls and cry that poor, poor, noble Democrats are ALWAYS out-sleazed by the vile GOP, if it makes you feel better. I won't interrupt your wail.

But since you know they're the dirtiest, sleaziest operators in the country, perhaps you can point me to the GOPers there in WI who've run a gay prostitution ring out of their apartment or driven drunk off a bridge and left a campaign staffer to drown.

Oh really?

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The sons of a first-term congresswoman and Milwaukee's former acting mayor were among five Democratic activists charged Monday with slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans to drive voters and monitors to the polls on Election Day.
Sowande Omokunde, son of Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wis., and Michael Pratt, the son of former Milwaukee acting mayor Marvin Pratt, were among those charged with criminal damage to property, a felony that carries a maximum punishment of 3½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Who would you believe, Schultz, or a serial liar like Walker?

But he told the Journal Sentinel that he felt he was having some success getting members of the Senate Republican caucus to sign on to his compromise, in which he sought larger financial concessions from public employees but a two-year sunset on the limits to collective bargaining.

3. With charges dropped, we mooted the whole thing in early September. Press release? Why? We don't have to announce it.

Should have supported voter ID law

By Artur Davis

I've changed my mind on voter ID laws -- I think Alabama did the right thing in passing one -- and I wish I had gotten it right when I was in political office.

When I was a congressman, I took the path of least resistance on this subject for an African American politician. Without any evidence to back it up, I lapsed into the rhetoric of various partisans and activists who contend that requiring photo identification to vote is a suppression tactic aimed at thwarting black voter participation.

The truth is that the most aggressive contemporary voter suppression in the African American community, at least in Alabama, is the wholesale manufacture of ballots, at the polls and absentee, in parts of the Black Belt.

Voting the names of the dead, and the nonexistent, and the too-mentally-impaired to function, cancels out the votes of citizens who are exercising their rights -- that's suppression by any light. If you doubt it exists, I don't; I've heard the peddlers of these ballots brag about it, I've been asked to provide the funds for it, and I am confident it has changed at least a few close local election results.

There's a vast gulf of gray between normal prosecutor discretion and the ADA's statement that she "absolutely believes [the accused'd] account" but will not bring charges. Perhaps the DA's office is simply too busy sticking its collective nose into politically motivated State Legislature and Supreme Court investigations.

Solomon's a real winner, at any rate, bragging in the ADA's letter at the link of "his digital workmanship as producing not one, but two orgasms, in a woman who suffers from sexual trauma..."

I highly doubt people are voting in Wisconsin that live in Illinois, no matter what they claim at a barbershop. I stated I think the fraud occurs from keeping people from voting, and how the votes are counted after they are cast. None of the state ballots are counted by hand, but counted by voting machines that can be hacked for as little as $20.00. Remember they just investigated this a few yrs ago.

Good thing former ACORN Director Carolyn Castore whose previous voter (multiple) registration efforts were “marred by fraud and corruption” is taking the lead in defending us against voter ID.

You can doubt it all you want but I know what I've heard and seen. Several of the barbers at the barber shop I go to live in Northern Illinois. The barber shop is a few miles over the state line in Kenosha. They use the shop's address to get mail, register to vote, etc. and also register and vote in Illinois using their home addresses.

Its a simple matter to use the shop's utility bills to register since they are in a person's name and not a business name. And its not like the ID checks are all that rigorous.

Ok, first Corky your claim was that this Walker "trickery" led to Schultz "not being able to introduce amendments to the BRB that he wanted."

This as I have shown is 100% bullshit. He never brought it up to GOP leadership, AND also didn't introduce it later when he had a chance. He had another opportunity to introduce amendments and chose not too.

Second, from your link, Schultz clearly relents on his strong language "Late Thursday, Schultz softened his criticisms after he got calls from Walker and Senate President Mike Ellis (R-Neenah) and a request to talk with Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau), saying he never meant to besmirch anyone."

So Schultz later changed his position.
