OK, I made that up. But still, he could win.

Man, talk about spin. Of those 100,000 sign-ups, I'll wager 99,999+ were snark. I confess to being one of them. I gave them my real email address so I could sense their increasing desperation.

Ann,

Long time lurker. Thought you'd be interested to know we're both mentioned in Richard Fernandez' new pamphlet.

I guess this makes us world famous in Poland.

Cheers,
L3

The spoof-video for AttackWatch is hysterical. (Instapundit has it.)

Thank you Wisconsin, for JJ Watt.

I have to have a new angiogram next week. I had a stress test and it showed new blockages.

I just had bypass surgery, and a ventricular aneurism repair, 2 years ago. It's very bad for me to be showing up with blocked arteries again so soon.

Nice pic, whatever it is.

Like the colors.

Full moon was a couple of days ago, right? Couldn't tell it from the pups. They have been slightly this side of berserk today.

Since it's already beclowned itself, I guess pm's disappointed there isn't a whole lot of bitter clinger sentiment instead of the nonstop /sarc.

Her birthday-mate was going on and on re this.

So as a dedicated listener of Rush she's probably aware, even if she isn't reading the associated blather in these threads, or others.

BTW, as a regular listener to Rush and other professional cons myself, I can verify that the airwaves are full of BS lies about BHO, e.g. re this AW thing Rush claimed that AW could lead to some sort of police state.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd bother sending in reports to the AW when I hear dishonest attacks. But, I'm guessing that many of the folks who bother to send in these reports will be those who are mocking or misdirecting the BHO folks. This opportunity for spam really seems to cheer them up, if some of the comments I've read are accurate. Being a troll can be fun...or so I've heard.

Sorry to hear that, Dave.

This poll at National Review blows my mind.

"Who is the better conservative standard-bearer?"

And you have two choices. 45,000 people voted.

Palin 76%
Perry 24%

Wow.

I wonder if that vote is because people think Palin is to the right of Perry? Or because they think she would be a stronger candidate?

What's interesting is that Sarah is tailoring her message to independents and moderates.

In other words, she feels like she has established her right-wing credentials. So she can emphasize a populist message that appeals beyond the people who love her. She can get nice press in the New York Times. (Which is frickin' amazing).

Rick Perry, meanwhile, has also established his right-wing credentials. Unfortunately, he has done so by publishing a book, Fed Up! last year.

His book is a nightmare for Perry. What he has said about Social Security is way beyond "Ponzi scheme." In his book he calls Social Security "a disease".

A disease!

How is that going to play in Florida? Just imagine the attack ads.

How do you flip-flop your way out of that one? He was calling social security a disease ten months ago.

How do you spin that? "Oh, I think it's a disease, and unconstitutional, but I'm not going to cut it or anything like that."

People call social security the third rail of American politics. Is that true? I don't know.

But why test it? In this campaign, of all campaigns, why would we want to attack Social Security?

Perry is trying to walk it back. But all those quotes are out there. Ugh.

Someone called mesquito has recently commented there. Is that our mesquito?

Called kahili ginger or Himalayan ginger, considered an invasive species and a pest. Very prolific. Crowds out native plants in the ground cover.

I think the Brewskis are a mortal lock to win the World Series this year.

The Packers are current champs. Badgers football is current B10 champs and loaded. Politically, Wisconsin has been the lead story all year long...it's like a vortex at the center of a galaxy, the eye of a hurricane, the way everything seems to be centered around the state of Wisconsin this year. The Brewers will be swept up along with it, regardless of the matchups on the field.

It's happened before, where big events have happened in synchronicity in a place other than NY/DC/LA. But not often. I think it's happening now.

This made me laugh:

LA Porn Studio Begins Construction On ‘Post-Apocalyptic’ Underground Bunker

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A San Fernando Valley adult entertainment studio began construction this month on what it calls a “post-apocalyptic” underground bunker in anticipation of a global catastrophe rumored to take place in late 2012.

I hear it's going to take place on November 6th. No more water but a firing next time...

Woke up this morning to the first frost. Currently 32º.

Shanna said...

32? We're in the 50's (high 70ish) and it's heaven!

I have to have a new angiogram next week.

Good luck, Dave.

Did I miss a thread on Bachmanns vaccines cause mental retardation comments?

I hear ya, AllenS - it was down to the low 70s here this morning. Winter is on its way.

A bunker staffed with SoCal tattooed skanks... humph... I'll pass. I'm waiting for the porn bunker staffed with those clear-skinned, non-enhanced Czech babes.

wv: hothoes - NO SHIT! That was bloggerbot's so-called random verification string. I'd like to see the pseudocode running the irony subroutine.

I think it got down to 74 here in SW Florida this morning. I'm looking forward to next month when it might get down into the 60s, which we haven't seen since May. It gets to be a drag walking out into a sauna every morning when I get off work.

She was vaccinated? (rimshot)

I think the person who told Bachmann about the Gardasil causing retardation in her daughter was a democratic plant.

AllenS, no frost here. I had everything covered, just in case. Mid 30s at the airport, probably 40 at my house.

DaveW, JJ watts is a player, you're welcome.

Regarding you're heart..stay positive! I'm certain you've gotten all kinds of advice from docs, nurses, family, etc. I'll give you just 2 words..Mediterranean diet. Heart health is the primary benefit. But prestigous institutions like the Mayo also say it also helps prevent cancer and Alzheimers. Being Italian, I was raised on it. But, it's quite simple and damn tasty..includes vino of course. I wish you the best.

Frost overnight. Made worse by construction on our home. Just go a roof, but have only semi boarded up windows, no insulation and no heat. Fortunately, lots of blankets.

Good luck DaveW. I'll pray for the best, FWIW.

Thanks for the well wishes. It'll be what it is.

If you ever have to have an angiogram, here's a tip. Shave your own chest and, uh, nether region. Because if you don't the nurse will shave you, dry with a disposable razor.

OK I just realized some of the guys here might think that would be great so just...be advised.

Calypso Facto said...

Good luck to you, Dave!

And thanks for the safety n comfort tip. I'll file that away for future (hopefully unneeded) reference. Can you explain, though, why they shave your "nether region"?

DaveW said...

They shave your chest because they put 7 or 9 or some-odd probes on you to monitor your heart throughout the process.

They shave your, uh, nether regions because that's where they insert the catheter(s) in your arteries. They use that big trunk artery that goes down to your lower body.

Last time I had this, I was bruised from my navel to my right knee, solid purple. That artery they use is big and under high pressure and the catheter(s) are big too, about 1/3 as big as a Bic pen.

Calypso Facto said...

Ouch. Thanks for the info, but almost sorry I asked! Again: all the best.
