"This is the size I wanted them to look at 19!"

There should be more stories like this about regretting breast implants. A very young woman is making a decision that binds the much older version of herself. Eh! I guess that's the way life is about all sorts of things. Time only goes in one direction. (Although I did once read a very cool book where the amazing realization in the end was that time actually goes in the other direction. I'd name the book, but the spoiler would ruin it.)

Anyway, the implant-regretter in the linked news item is mostly sad about breast feeding. I'm wondering what these implanted breasts look like 20 or 30 or 40 years later. I imagine young women thinking they won't care what their breasts look like when they are 40 or 50 or 60. But as the voice of the future, let me say: You will!

I know a few women who got them after divorces. They didn't need the augmentation. They were also not so cash flush to warrant the expenditure. It is a head thing, obviously. I sign of insecurity.

Talking about regrets, how many people regret tattoos?

I see young woman with them on their necks, arms, sometimes on their faces. Pretty girls too. I find it a turn off. Like seeing a beautiful building with grafitti.

I'd say the book is "Time's Arrow," but it's clear pretty much throughout that time is moving backwards, so to say this is not to ruin any spoilers.

Mick, is there anything in the Constitution about a female presidential candidate having naturally born breasts?

Because there should be if it is not there. There should be!

I'd rather have small and real than big and fake. Plus one of the preferred methods of installation, thru a nipple flap, can seriously impair nipple sensitivity. I have no attraction to fake. It's not nice to fool mother nature!

If you are a women think about having a big tat on your shoulder for the rest of your life...in years to come we are going to see some big time remorse about this.

I guess not, but the comparison does illustrate the concept. Silicone or saline is not natural born, or a creature of one's own, and can, and does have deleterious consequences.

It is summer here, and women are wearing skimpy clothes. I saw a friend who is my age, and noticed she had a tattoo above her left scapula. It must have been there a while, or perhaps it was just a lousy tat, as it looked like little more than a blotchy birthmark. She told me she had other tattoos, too. Nice. I didn't ask to see them.

While dropping my daughter off at the Private Christian High School during her Sophomore year (it was the late 90's), I could not help notice that all - and I mean all - of the the girls were at least minimally endowed with what appeared to be "c"-cup sizing. I mentioned to my wife that I never went to a school - or anywhere for that matter - that had so many well-"rounded" young ladies. My wife mentioned my observations to my daughter, who replied "Yeah, that's cause everyone buys 'em". We're talking 15 - 18 year old girls here, folks.

While talking with other parents at the school after a drama performance, my wife commented that she heard that some girls at the school had implants. One mother said " You bet! My daughter is not going to be left behind in that competition!" She was dead serious.

I still don't know if that's safe. I think I need to ask my daughter (or have my wife ask) how some of her 26 year old friends are doing with their implants now.

I'm always shocked that young women at the height of their attractiveness go under the knife to "fix" themselves. Big breasted or small breasted to be young is to be bonny. Sad that they don't see that about themselves.

Sal said...

I've found that small breasts age much better than large ones (sample size = 2). And not having kids helps a lot too.

I figured if I hit 50 and started to go bald, I wouldn't care. I was right about that.

Not much of a boob man myself.

I do enjoy viewing the south end of a northbound woman. Love them long legs.

DADvocate said...

If you're naturally beautiful, like DADvocate's daughter, you don't need no enhancements.

I know a few women who got them after divorces.

My ex got breast reduction and a tummy tuck. Still doesn't look that great. Exercise and a healthy lifestyle go a lot further than surgery.

May I request that you name it anyways? I'm a nut for time travel and related books. I'd love to read it even knowing the ending.

If you can't see your way to naming it, how about meeting me half way. Who's the author?

Sal said...

Younger people will see how poorly tattoos age and they won't get them. Tattoos are something pathetic that their parents did -- tramp stamps and all that. In fact, that's probably already happening.

So both women are angry because they did not research the procedure or the doctor well enough before getting it done.

Don't be such a bimbo. Blame yourself, take responsibility and move on.

Thanks, Trey. I've been blessed with great kids. (No tatttoos, plastic surgery, etc. either. Don't believe in it.) Unless you have a serious deformity, take what God gave you and flourish.

"I'm a leg man myself," says the one.

Despite the boob/butt fixation we all have and tend to notice more than anything else, attractive feminine legs are soooooo rare.

Ditto with feet, despite the propensity to go open-toed shoe. Look, ladies, if you put on a sock and it looks like you have a mitten on, don't go open-toe.

Supposedly, natural is coming back, movie producers have discovered audiences (i.e., men) like the real thing.

Somewhat like the Hindenburg and the Graf Zeppelin touching noses, I've read, which on an older woman, comes off rather ridiculous.

So big fake breasts are out of style, which is interesting material for a Breast Blog that sometimes covers the Wisconsin Wars.

The Russian/Ukranian look seems to be the fad today. They carry Asian Mongol genes inter mixed with the Scandinavian genes from white Russians. The resulting look is perfection.

But that fad may change soon. Which is why any permanent marking and cutting of the body is a bad decision.

John Waters made my favorite statement about tattoos: they might look fine when you're young and hot, but eventually you just look like an out-of-work Tilt-A-Whirl operator.

I smell a billionaire in someone that could come up with a tat process that stays vibrant for a few years then fades quickly with little or no damage to the tissue.

There are exercises that reduce breast size?

DaveW said...

I read somewhere that 40% of young women are getting breast implants now, or maybe it was plastic surgery generally, can't recall.

I know a beautiful young woman that has them and I was shocked when she told me. She absolutely doesn't need breast implants. She's drop dead gorgeous without any enhancement.

I think it's really a shame that women think they have to fit some cartoonish ideal body type. It's horrible they feel this way.

And like the other leg men upthread, I don't even care about big boobs. I think they're making a big mistake.

Perhaps it is the other way around: women with "big ta-tas" don't take up long distance running.

Then, I think it was non sequitar that once showed what was obviously a female patient sitting in front of a plastic surgeon's desk, and she is saying "I want them large enough that I can yell at men when they notice them."
Go figure. Gregory House, M.D. figures that women don't get bigger boobs for their husbands, in the end they really get them for themselves. I defer to his judgement.

I'd be all for a breast reduction (ha only six months post delivery) if it didn't have the same effects.
My guess is our bodies know what they're doing most of the time and we should just leave it that way.

It's almost a certainty that Spelling's doctor told her about the milk issue -- one of the very first questions they will ask is if you're planning on having children. She probably just didn't pay attention, and it's always easier to blame someone else. Even if the doc didn't mention it just a little research would have found it out.

And Richards "was vulnerable" because she was making a movie? And didn't research her doc. It seems like both of these morons just want to dodge their own mistakes.

Oh, and the boobs have a limited lifetime. You know that going in, that you'll have to have them reworked at a later date.

test said...

"Well I got my boobs done in my early 20's and if I had known it would or could possibly impact production of milk, I would never had had them done,"

I wonder what IQ is the threshold to suspect breast implants could interfere with milk production? Maybe 60?

Already has kids, so the gene pool's polluted.
