Is it a sunset, or is that building on fire? Some sort of gas leak?

I'm late to the other post about Monroe, but I was reminded of Brewster, Mass.

The deja-vu structure is the Old Town Hall. Shingled. Much more modest. But it was what I was reminded of.

I’m not sure if this theory has made it onto the internet yet, but it’s been floated at the office — that DSK ordered a hooker to come to his hotel room, came out of the bathroom naked, saw that a girl had arrived, and mistook her for the prostitute.

The alleged victim is from Africa.. does that mean DSK is a racist?

I was thinking about filing an unfair competition lawsuit based on the idea that accepting an unconstitutional Obamacare waiver is an unfair practice . . .

Good idea? Bad idea?

Looks a tad wintry, but that's a very picturesque old town. Glad you two can have some fun now that the blog is restored.

Only if he votes Republican.

Very cool photos.
I hate it when I see an interesting sunset, landscape, wildlife scene, whatever, and don't have a camera handy. You seem to never be in that position.
My new mantra: "Remember To Put The Camera In The Car Before Leaving the House."

That looks like an ad for one of those "Day After " movies.

I'm late, too. And a bit off topic even in the other thread. Here's the the Jasper County Courthouse which I misremembered being in Monroe, Georgia. It's actually in not far away Monticello, Georgia. It's also the courthouse where they filmed the courtroom scenes in "My Cousin Vinny". And, I got sworn into the Bar there. I would love to try a case in that courtroom -- it's beautiful and has a very unusual jury layout, with two jury boxes on opposite sides of the Judge's podium in a large, high-ceiling room with balcony seating. Apparently back in the day of circuit-riding judges, when Court wasn't held often and you had to cover a lot of cases in a short period of time, the judge would preside over two trials at the same time, or some such.

And here's a pic of the Walton County Courthouse in Monroe, Georgia, which looks a bit like a Victorian home:

Did you have lunch at Baumgartner's Tavern?

If you didn't, you missed some true Americana, and a good sandwich for less than $3.00.
