Professor Althouse, your clientele are kicking and screaming and tearing each other up in an adjacent room.

Upthrust the incarnadin-chartreuse bud through the violaceous air.

That's what she likes. You know the Texas cage match aspects of it. Lends itself to more comments and page views.

Great strategery!

Uh, what ric said.

Yes, very nice, Madame. Shot against a sunset?

I don't think you've shown us any studio shots.

I do not like how messy maple trees are. Except for Japanese maples. They do not seem as bad.

In the words of Edmund Blunden:
Concert Party: Busseboom

///Of barrage south by Saint Eloi,
And the red lights flaming there
Called madness: Come, my bonny boy,
And dance to the latest air.

To this new concert, white we stood;
Cold certainty held our breath;
While men in tunnels below Larch Wood
Were kicking men to death.

Just be thankful we’re not in the tunnels beneath Larch Wood, then……

Perhaps, but color me sceptical.

I have problems with the U.S. flying 4 helicopters at least 120 miles across Pakistan into a heavily militarized area not that far from Kashmir without a shot being fired or the Pakistani Air Force taking to the air.

I have problems with no Pakistani authorities, military or civil, showing up at the compound until the Americans had safely left.

I have problems with bin Laden being summarily shot, though it is now stated that he was not armed.

I have problems with the number of U.S. officials, whom one would think should know about these things, now scrambling to sound as if they did, though they obviously did not.

I’m sorry this is a thread about Maple Blossoms, and English poetry circa 1917…..you might wish to re-direct this comment to a more relevant thread……..

It's a cafe, and I wanted to make some different points.

So were Bin Laden's dying words "Rosebud"? I cannot wait until the action movie comes out with President Obama playing himself.

The latest theory is elements of the Pak government friendly to us did know and did what they could to help.

I have problems with no Pakistani authorities, military or civil, showing up at the compound until the Americans had safely left.

Al-Reuters yesterday claimed the op was intended as a hit from the start - take that as you will.

Since bin Laden was in chronic renal failure (it may have been impossible for him to leave the house), the idea of him jumping around with a gun in his hand is a tough sell.

I theorized yesterday that his condition may have been similar to what most historians believe Jim Bowie's was when the Alamo fell. That is, unable to defend himself.

We'll see.

I have problems with the number of U.S. officials, whom one would think should know about these things, now scrambling to sound as if they did, though they obviously did not.

A good many of them are politicians, after all.

This article has some food for thought.

No one gives a F*ck about what YOU want, buddy…now sod off Swampy…THIS thread is about beauty, peace and harmony…and if you don’t like I’ll continue to taunt and harass you…LOSER.

Joe - you are a hypocrite. The best way to preserve a "cafe" thread is to ignore all political posts. do NOT respond.

Popular Mechanics?

Hagar said...

I think it possible that the Pakistani "elements" specified that he was not to be left alive and talking.

edutcher said...

I know, but they're pretty well tied in to Spec Ops stuff, i.e., through the technology.

The points are valid.

MadisonMan said...

Just a surprise, that's all. My son subscribes!

Hagar said...

And, of course - going full Dan Brown - it is possible that he is alive and talking.

Comanche or Apache were never so happy
As when they rode forth dragging bouncing papoosies,
And when they had taken their quota of scalpies
Camped down by a river and took a sweet nappy.

My buds and I are busy putting together the largest volunteer-run fundraising plant sale in the U.S.

Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. Feel free to drop in Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, though I won't be there all the hours we're open.

Here's a time lapse video, just for AST.

Trooper York said...

If I was in Minnesota I would stop by and buy some flowers Peter.

Good luck with your sale.

Peter Hoh said...

Thanks, Trooper. And if I'm ever in New York City, I'll be sure to stop by your store.
