Okay, okay, you win. I can't bring myself to debate like you.

Is there just nothing at all to do in Wisconsin?

Pretty much, but on the bright side it's Meade's only recreation.

So hey, it gets him off the couch ...

That appeared to be a bathroom window Lem...Earlier one of the women commenting said some of the bathrooms were locked.

Latrines and provisions...

They already do: http://blogs.forbes.com/rickungar/2011/02/25/the-wisconsin-lie-exposed-taxpayers-actually-contribute-nothing-to-public-employee-pensions/

Debunked here.

The Forbes author confused the deferred compensation system -- in which the employee makes all contributions -- with the Wisconsin Retirement System, which is taxpayer-funded.

James -

You didn't answer my question.

Shiloh must be one of Althouse's students. He spends too much time obsessing over her personal life to just be a random lefty.

it looks like the uptake stream is on repeat mode now.

Shiloh is a 60-year-old Navy veteran, according to Shiloh.

What? You can't tell?

That's true, Life. I, however, am not a leftist and your screed on insurrection is short on verifiable facts and way, way too long on dumb militarist rhetoric.

People like you make my side look stupid. So, yeah, I take it on myself to encourage you to shut up.

ok, ok, I do enjoy makin' fun of the "chaos" reporter(s), and much like makin' fun of mama grizzly, it's wayyy too easy, so I may have too move on.

Obsession ;) notwithstanding lol as a few here are totally obsessed about my alleged obsession, eh.

The unruly crowd was whooping it up
in Madison this afternoon

They roared and they wailed as they
moaned and cried a doleful piteous tune

So from out of the dark they formed a mob
To invade the Capitol's halls

While the State police stood spinelessly by
Bereft of their pride and their balls

Who shall stand for the law and the right
not the riff-outhrablraff infesting this place

The Wisconsin voters will give this bunch
an electoral coup de grace

James, James, James...
You really should thoroughly read the articles you link. Those particular benefits they were discussing were the employees elective "deferred income" benefits, which of course are always paid by the employee. You do know what deferred income is, don't you?

You see, the media writes for uninformed people like you...a catchy headline that has nothing to do with the content and then lies spread quickly. Most people don't read the article, they just blindly
Now why would the media want to confuse people this
way? Could it be that they have the same agenda you do?

Union dues are not voluntary. Political contributions made with union dues do not come from individuals. They are extracted - INVOLUNTARILY and often CONTRARY TO THE WISHES OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS - from public employees.

Much as I hate to do it, I will have to pull out an old conservative maxim: "If you don't like it, go somewhere else."

----------

Lol. It took this guy one post to go from mewling about "freedom of choice" to "let the taxpayers eat cake".

All high minded rhetoric by liberals just seems so fake, and it's quickly abandoned when their position turns out to not align with the basic principles they supposedly hold so dear.

Hipster douchebag psuedo-authoritarian pretend ironic near Libertarian troll, who's sad blog expressing disappointment at all shows that education can induce activity without achievement, does not know that "Gaze" means Ignore, but he is denied feeling he accomplished anything in his quest to control all others in Ms Althouse's house.

Go do something little boy to earn the respect that you think your judgment of others deserves. The recruiting office should be just down the block. Tell us in a couple of years what you've learned.

Life -- Get over yourself, dude. You are talking like there is some kind of real coup happening when it's just Madison being Madison.

Revenant will laugh that you called me libertarian, though.

I'm even more amused that he called you a "psuedo-authoritarian near Libertarian".

That's not quite the strangest insult I've heard.

So I guess we would have been justified in doing something like this after the ObamaCare turd was shoved down our throats, right?

Too late.

Maybe the protester-types bleating for the continuance of their gravy-train would have been better off convincing their wayward representatives to return to the capitol to negotiate a better result.

Too bad.

95% of life is just showing up.

If you aren't at the table, you don't have a voice. The strategy to cut and run can cut both ways. The democrats and their union remoras just found that out.

Elections have consequences. ObamaKare was rammed through despite a majority of Americans against it.

How's it feel, dem-Wisconsin???

The idea that the senate republicans violated the open meeting law is also pretty thin. Even if they technically violated the law, a court would have to find that running afoul of the open meeting law outweighs the importance of the law itself (a yearly budget bill!) Plus it's pretty hard to argue that the public was not informed about the law or lacked a forum to speak about it.

Yet it's not a yearly budget bill. Your defense is thin. There is nothing in the law that says Oh, you can ignore this if the Public is already informed. There is -- apparently -- a 2-h clause in the Open Meeting law for Emergencies. I'm not sure how this falls under that description.

The interesting thing is that the DA in charge of the Capitol is from Dane County. Will he press charges against the Senate Leader? I think the pressure on him to do that will be high.
