"Am I a Walker plant? No. I'm an Althouse plant."/"New MeAdia."

Those are your options, if you want to purchase some official Meadhouse paraphernalia! Get it now, while it's hot.

Actually, you're opinionated. Which puts a pin into the idea that professors and judges are so neutral they don't exhibit opinions, even in private.

You're also very generous. Like Glenn Reynolds, you run a blog. Time consuming. And, it took money out of your pocket to do this.

Even nicer. You figured this all out when you were older. Given that you (and all of us who were born before 1980), saw a whole other media culture! They were professionals! It was called "Working on Madison Avenue."

It's obvious you just grabbed the technology and flew with it!

As to Governor Walker, it is an amazing thing that he just won this past November. And, the story went NATIONAL. In no small measure to you and Meade. (And, that little camera he uses, where he doesn't peer at people through a view finder.)

You also say when he's walking into a crowd, he picks one of the buttons from the collection to wear. And, it works like the President's American Flag Pin, worn on a suit jacket's lapel.

See? Even that was a surprise to me.

Does that count a press credentials? A website hosting product?

Probably.

How about making one with you and Meade's faces together with the "obama hope" coloring...text says "New MeAdia"?

I just want to thank you both. You two brought us the real story behind what was going on at the capitol. That was true journalism. Nobody in the professional media even came close to what you saw and experienced.
Two thumbs up. When the people have information, we can make informed choices. Something the MSM has forgotten with their spinning. All I want is the facts, not your version of them. You and Meade did an amazing job of giving us the facts and letting us make our own informed choices.
APPLAUSE!

Nobody really supports the conservative agenda. There are only people paid to pretend to.

The irony is the opposite is closer to the truth. As with the professor's earlier observations about good art being a conservative act regardless of the fashionable left wing opinions most artists spew, virtually nobody is liberal in their personal life. No matter how lefty they proclaim themselves at parties, reality is conservative and they conduct themselves accordingly.

For instance, while I've never met a liberal who thought "taxes" were too high, I've also never met a liberal who didn't think HIS taxes were too high.

For further irony, conservatives tend to offer more tangible support for the poor and downtrodden, and in the end are much more "liberal" than the self-proclaimed liberals.

I think you are about to leave your academic career behind. It was just a matter of finding the right agent/spouse.

I think you should use your "plants" tag on this post, for handy linkage to the corpse flower posts...

Of Althouse plants, can the seed collection be far behind??

You have to have a "Neutrality - Cruel and Kind" one and maybe a "The view from Madison".

Good for you.

There is absolutely nothing "neutral" about this website--and I'm fairly sure we all know I'm just stating the obvious.

Has Meadhouse jumped the shark? I think not :)

I suggest a 'Cruel Neutrality' t-shirt.

Carl, if, by "neutral" you mean "supports one side as often as the other, then you are probably right. But who who has anything interesting or thoughtful to say could be under that standard?

But if you mean "does what she thinks is right without fear or favor to either side" then I think she passes as neutral. The prof is who she is regardless of who she pisses off.

@urhouse: Good point.

I think the Althouse Plant is a cactus.

A suggestion for the new press credential:

"NICE TO MEADE YA"

I'm still amazed you're not famous at the Rotunda.

@chickelet -- Awesome t-shirt!

True. It is alternately acidic and base.

Althouse and Meade have sold out to da man. I'm done. Off to find me another blog that keeps it real with the fans.

Meade actually made it and sent it to me. I should have asked him to sign it. I was hoping it was a prototype.

Acerbic and caustic wit!

That was rather nice, wasn't it, chick?

I hope Congress orders everybody to buy some of this merchandise, vis-a-vis their obligation to regulate interstate trade.

I want one with that "new normal" slogan you had for a while. In 2XL.

BTW, the site implies that one gets black lettering on dark brown and black shirts. Suboptimal.

i ordered a "cruel neutrality" coffee mug. it'll be like sharing a cuppa in the morning with old friends far away. nice.

great work on the doings up in madison. you and meade have made it up close and personal. keep it up!
