I'm not an Obama fan, but I'm not going to hold him responsible for the utterances of an asshole like Gaddafi.
Gadaffi wants to take the opportunity to get a job in against a political figure on his way out?
jab, not job. Sigh.
GaddafiDuck is slaughtering the Libyan people, Obama is immersed in Motown celebs up to his chin. I used to think we were fucked. Now we're worse than fucked.
And Dionne's even a Psychic Friend!
"For good times and bad times"You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life.
Jab, not job. sigh(I'm the absolute worst at that.)I was wondering this morning why the world needs to speak with one voice, as Obama said yesterday? Why can't there be many voices with differing opinions?Does America have to always wait until everyone else lines up behind her to speak? Is that what Obama is saying?Or is he saying that he is waiting for someone else to come up with a position that he can "me too" - like a little Sir Echo?
Oh, BTW - Obama sucks. Just sayin'.
I think we're all on the Obama high speed train to oblivion.

E. M. Davis wrote: I'm not going to hold him responsible for the utterances of an asshole like Gaddafi. However, some people will. Arab culture is awash in conspiracy theories. Couple Gaddafi's comments with Obama's thunderous silence and you get just the right amount of verisimilitude to poison the waters of US relations with a post-nutjob dictator Libya. Gaddafi knows his people very well, but our poor President doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
According to Julius' logic, Obama shaking his hand means lefties support the murder to 4,000 Libyans.
Meade heard me playing that song as I was preparing this post and thought one of the singers had died. Just the idea of them dying (especially Stevie) made me cry.
I have wondered if Obama has spoken to Rev Wright about contacting his old pal, Gadaffi. Maybe he can talk him off the ledge.
In that photo with Gaddafi, Obama epitomizes the sleek up and coming third world operator. Which is what he was. He has now made it into the White House as a fully arrived third world operator. Nightmarish. But only if you love first world America. If you are a member of the army of resentment then this is it -- your moment has arrived.
Pundit Press has a few things to say about Obama's Libyan dilemma
Friends of Muammar [FoM]Ayers, Bill Farrakhan, Louis Obama, BarakWright, Jeremiah
Althouse, you can do better than link crap Drudge dredges up. (Always wanted to say that)I mean, I'm sure you don't think that Obama is friends with that man. But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible.
"Obama's thunderous silence "Is it impossible to believe that the administration is worried about hostages being taken, or reprisal killings against Americans?I'd like them to get all the Americans out of there. Then, they can more aggressively focus on the Gaddafi nuts.
Someone better impeach that asshole before e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e gets hurt.
But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible.Next time take a dose from the bottle marked SMART.
"you can do better than link crap Drudge dredges up"The uprising in Madison is to be taken seriously, but this little thing in Libya is for political fun and games.
I used to think we were fucked. Now we're worse than fucked.Yep. On a tangential note, gases prices are going up again. Obama, our savior, has been in office over two years now. What's he accomplished to increase our energy independence?Worst president evah.
Gadaffi wants to take the opportunity to get a job in against a political figure on his way out? But he does need a job if he is going to resign as Dictator/Snazzy Dresser in Chief.
Obama is not friends with everyone he bows to, that's true. However, he certainly seemed to be more restrained with an enemy than he was with our ally Mubarak. Note that there is no news coverage of Egypt's slide into the Muslim Brotherhood. It has begun.
Is it impossible to believe that the administration is worried about hostages being taken, or reprisal killings against Americans? They are apparently unworried with borrowing more than we earn, so why worry about a few hostages? No, it is not impossible, but it is unlikely.
Is it impossible to believe that the administration is worried about hostages being taken...Yes, it's a bogus excuse.Gaddafi may be crazy, but he's not retarded.
What's he accomplished to increase our energy independence?Energy Independence: The Middle East going up in flames on Obama's watch while he retreats back to playing Community Organizer in Wisconsin.DHOTUS. Diversity Hire Of The United States.
Gas prices are going up because the Zero and Biden (Zero minus one) are in cahoots with the oil industry. That was the reason when it was Bush and Cheney.Must be the reason now.
Libtard: I mean, I'm sure you don't think that Obama is friends with that man.Bill Ayers.
That's a nice re-election photo but he's not bowing.
Now all the people who posted the picture of Rumsfeld shaking Saddam's hand as proof we were his biggest supporters will throw a fit about Drudge posting this picture. I bet just like all those times Obama didn't hear Rev Wright bash America, he never knew Wright and Farrakhan visited Muammar.
Or is he saying that he is waiting for someone else to come up with a position that he can "me too" - like a little Sir Echo?I heard Obama as saying "we condemn you but France and Germany condemned you first".
If the world speaks with one voice, who are we talking to?
I'm getting the impression that he's not a great community organizer either. Maybe he's good in the sack. That's all that's left. Ron Jeremy for President!
I mean, I'm sure you don't think that Obama is friends with that man. But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible.Gaddafi Shaking Hands with Obama Does Not Make Them Friends; Picture of Rumsfeld Shaking Hands with Saddam Hardest Hit.
And for those who you who with "War is not the answer" bumperstickers, the current kill count is being assigned to Diplomacy.
Gaddafi is a fickle friend at best. He is everybody's friend, but he really has only trusted in murdering his enemies. That kind of brutal King usually lasts a long time, until his own family members kill him first. So far Gaddafi has been quicker than his enemies. And Gaddafi seems to sense that the Islamic gangs of today are the family that is out to kill him . Maybe he is considering a conversion to Christianity like Obama did. He maybe smart enough to do it.
bagoh20 wrote: If the world speaks with one voice, who are we talking to?I know Ann wants us to cease awarding the "thread winner" honor, but you deserve it in spades. Brilliant! Nothing pops the balloon of the Zero's empty overblown rhetoric than a pointy little application of logic.
Now when the lefties shriek "Rumsfeld shook hands with Saddam" we can shriek back "Obama shooks hands with Gaddafi."
Didn't Rumsfeld resign?
This would all be over quickly if Obama just bused his SEIU Thugs to the MidEast instead of the MidWest.
Condolences to the truck driving commentators and the people who drive to commute.$3.19 in town here. Ouch.
Madison, it hasn't even started to kick in yet. I hope you filled the tank.
$3.19 in town here. Ouch. Also condolences to everyone who uses things that move by truck. To wit, anybody who eats food.
My God, do you right wing lunatics still listen to Drudge, a man who makes the National Enquirer look like the NY Times?Of course you do. That's why you're right wing lunatics. Well, there are these reasons, too.
Average gas prices today:WI = $3.25CA = $3.61WY = $2.95 http://www.losangelesgasprices.com/Prices_nationally.aspx
Of course Obama loves Khadaffi. They are two thugs in a pod. Moamar has better taste in women, however.
Can't wait for 2012.Just wonder how many people will die while we debate the pros and cons of using taxpayer money to elect Democrats to vote themselves more taxpayer money.
That's die unnecessarily, die because there is no moral authority in the world saying "Hold your horses, buddy."
A regular barney moment.
"it hasn't even started to kick in yet. I hope you filled the tank."Is it evil to think that $5/gallon gas would be nice because it'd get more folks off the roads, therefore, folks w/ plenty of dough won't need to sit in traffic? In my hood we already have "lexus lanes," where you can pay to drive in the carpool lanes, but it'd be nice to open up all the roads. Theoretically, at some point, the plight of poor/middle folks could become a problem for upper folks, OTOH, the upper folks haven't been hindered by others' stagnating, so maybe there's nothing to worry about.
Don't forget every school bus, ambulance/fire squad, "elder van" program, Meals-on-Wheels, etc. will suddenly see their main operating expense spike by 40-50%.
Shutting down oil production in the Gulf is one of Obama's greatest moments!Of course, the Democrats can take pleasure if making it virtually impossible to explore and drill for oil within the continental U.S.Well done!Wait until that green energy thing kicks in! It's gonna be so great!
jurassicpork said... My God, do you right wing lunatics still listen to Drudge,Um, huh?Are you suggessting the photo is fake?Or are you suggesting the news artilce Drudge linked to was written by Drudge himself? You're pretty coherent, FYI.
I almost forgot to note the underlying stupidity of the idea to artificially create higher prices (simulating a shortage here in the U.S.) to prevent a real worldwide shortage. The answer is energy independence to the extent that it's possible. Barring the use of our own natural resources while the rest of the world uses theirs is economic suicide.
@pbandj and Dose of sumthin'I'll stipulate this photo is irrelevant to any conversation about the Obama administration's Libya policy if you repudiate the usage of that hoary old 1980's photo of SecDef Cheney pressing the flesh with the other Hussein as irrelevant to W's Iraq policy. Deal?
Is it evil to think that $5/gallon gas would be nice because it'd get more folks off the roadsUm, no it won't.It is just another dipshit assertion by you leftists who don't understand the real world.
In this thread, I've already quoted the theme song from The Facts of Life. But, now it seems appropriate to (musically) look back at the turning point where the rich and middle/poor folks started their decades long divergence. And, there's a public worker involved:Dear Abby,Got a problem. I'm a decent, underpaid, hardworking county coroner. It'simportant that my family eat meat at least three times a week. But we just can'tafford to with the prices the way they are. So I bring home some choice cuts from myautopsy subjects. Just mix in the Tuna Helper:and ta-da!The whole family thinks my new meals are delicious. They ask me what'smy secret. Abby, I think they're getting suspicious. My smart-ass 8-year-old keepsasking, "Where's all the meat? The red dye #2 kind that's kept in the fridge."If they find out the truth I don't think they'll understand. Abby, what do I tellmy family?DEAR REAGANOMICS VICTIM: Consult your clergyman. Make sure the body'sblessed and everything should be just fine.
Wasn't the spike in oil prices a few years ago due to BOOOSH AND TEH EVIL OIL COMPANEES? What's the story this time, the shadow gov't run by the Koch brothers who are puppets of Darth Cheney?
I think we're all on the Obama high speed train to oblivion. Thanks for reminding me of one of my favority obscure songs of the '70's(and much better than that Wonder/Warwick/Bacharch crap)(and what a great a name for a band)Professor, can you get someone to play this over a loud speaker at the Wisconsin State Capitol. That would be great.
"I mean, I'm sure you don't think that Obama is friends with that man. But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible."This post is a challenge to you to use your brain. Am I trying to say something? Guess what it is! I have nudged you sharply. You've said ow. Good! Now, consider yourself nudged and think!Remember when Sarah Palin was asked "What is the Bush Doctrine?" It was a painful, embarrassing episode for her. Now, let me ask: What is the Obama Doctrine? Now, read the post again. Discuss.
"I mean, I'm sure you don't think that Obama is friends with that man." I did not have friendship relations with that dictator Muamar Gaddafi."(You can just spell his name any way you want. Any spelling is correct.)
You know who could do something-the damn House of Saud. It's not like they don't need to buy some good will.I read where the king had been here for three months and is now hightailing it back to Saudi Arabia. It also looks like he's trying to bribe his people into not revolting something like 160 billion in bonuses for education, marriage and-who knows what.So maybe they need to tamp down their own people in the future-But- lets look at their equipmentRoyal Saudi Air ForceSee that list? They could do something....******
Click on that link and just keep scrolling.*****btw-that jerk off is going to Mauritania and Chad to get more mercenaries. The crowds could burn tires at least by the runways-and f-up those runways.
Actually I spell it Kadafi and it's the one wrong way -you gotta throw an "h" in there. There's a list of spellings-must be a 100 and Kadafi ain't on there.********At CU in Boulder Kadafi cost me personally.I got into it with an Arabic male professor about SDI and I got a lot of the class backing me instead of him.SDI-one of the liberal arguments was-no one crazy would be the head of a country. This Arab male professor was telling me there would never could never be another "crazy" leader like Hitler. A crazy person could never get control of a country. He said to me- "Name one crazy head of state?"So-I'm all cautious-I'm afraid the prof might be Iranian so I don't answer Ayatollah-who-ha- ...I answer-"Kadafi!"The kids back me up.All of sudden he's in my face asking me-"What do you think of the "right of Israel"?I finally smarten up-and tell him-"I haven't studied that enough."He starts yelling-"What year are you?-Third year and you don't know enough to have an opinion!?"I get a C- in that class.Later I sign up for a Middle East Conflict course sailing along with an "A" average but that prof has a heart attack.Mr. "Kadafi's not Crazy" replaces him.A to C- in two weeks.****
So what song will get the most play when Dionne Warwick dies? My favorite is Walk on By. But she had all those hits in the 70s too. Heartbreaker?
I doubt Khadaffy (goes with Duck so well) even knew The Zero existed until 2 1/2 years ago, but, as someone noted, I'll bet he has connections with William Ayers.PS Is it scary or funny (or both) that Barry was trying to show how hip and cool he is with a twat about this and spelled the country Lybia?Maybe he can't wait for Michelle to get back and was thinking labia.
I love 'walk on by.'
Gadaffi was "rehabilitated" during the George W. Bush administration and commended for his help on the "war on terror". Condoleeza Rice visited him in Libya.
He was probably scared shitless we were going to topple him in a like manner as we had done to Saddam. Then Bush became the asshole of the world for troubling to do a job everyone wanted done (The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998), Gaddafi learns the implied lesson and reverts to type forthwith.
I would like to think that Obama is keeping a relatively low profile because several hundred Americans are on a ferry boat that is stuck in Tripoli because of bad weather. Gaddafi has no scruples about killing his own people. I don't think that he has any strong inhibitions about killing Americans. I don't think Obama's silence or protests will have any great effect on how events play out there so it's bestg to wait until the passengers are out of harm's way.......Castro and Chavez have been noticeably reluctant to criticize Gaddafi. Will this cost them any support among their leftist fans? Also, it's worth noting that when push came to shove, the west leaning dictators did not fire on their own populace. Compare Egypt and Tunisia with Algeria, Libya, and Syria who have not hesitated to inflict mass casualties on their subjects. But don't compare Libya's handling of the protestors with Israel's handling of a Palestinian demonstration. That would be unfair and totally irrelevant.
(You can just spell his name any way you want. Any spelling is correct.)Then I'd like to spell it in a way that rhymes with "other trucker."
Well, c'mon...if Drudge says it...and The Queen posts it.It must be true.Duh.
Quaestor "He was probably scared shitless we were going to topple him in a like manner as we had done to Saddam."Yeah, and that "toppling" thingie has really worked out great hasn't it?Duh.
Fen said..."Friends of Muammar [FoM] Ayers, Bill Farrakhan, Louis Obama, Barak Wright, JeremiahOld Friends of Saddam: George H. Bush, Sr., Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney...
Did he bow to him? Just curious.
Friends of Muammar Old Friends of SaddamTit for tat political blogging is always quite effective, eh ie deflection, false equivalency notwithstanding ...>btw, Reagan used to be friendly w/liberal actors er President of SAG ~ Gasp the horror! lol as can one imagine all those liberal undesirables he associated/corresponded w/back in the '40s/'50s.Yes Virginia, Dutch was a member er president of a union ~ oh the humanity!hmm, guilt by association which is all part of ailes/atwater/turdblossom's scorched earth politics beginning in the late '60s.>On a related note, a buffoon at another blog asked me how I could be an Ohio State football fan knowing Jim Tressel was/is a die hard Republican ?!? my reply: as long as Tressel keeps beating Michigan he could be an Islamo-Fascist!>Part of Reagan's appeal ie "Reagan Democrats" in 1980 ~ Hey, how bad can this guy be as he used to be a Democrat ...apologies to buffoons
Dose of Sanity "But linking it in that manner certainly gives the impression you think its credible."Of course she thinks it's credible, what other reason would she have to post it?
My God, do you right wing lunatics still listen to Drudge, a man who makes the National Enquirer look like the NY Times? You realize you just insulted the National Enquirer?
I keep wondering if Gaddafi is in the late stages of syphilis. I heard Ed Morrissey and Andrew McCarthy today. The fact that neither the State Dept. or the White House made any plans to get American citizens out. This was foreseeable after Tunisia went and then Egypt. Now those who didn't get out are in jeopardy, and we have to watch what we say. China had something like 5,000 of their nationals and they've gotten them all out. Not that they'd do anything about it anyway. Maybe Gaddafi has too much oil being supplied to American companies.
pb&j: Is it evil to think that $5/gallon gas would be nice because -Thimk of how many thousands in the 3rd World will starve to death because of it.

Given Obama's actions with regard to Zelaya and Chavez how can you be sure he is not bestest buds with Ghaddafi. Certainly not out of the question. Add in the Iran president and you have yet another bestest buds for obama. Not out of the question at all.
shiloh,But Reagan used his terms as president of the SAG to fight against the Communists in the union. Even though he was a Democrat then, he still knew s*it from shinola, which is more than can be said about many of the academics then and now.
I forgot to add the arms dealer and money launderer who helped Obama buy his house:Friends of Muammar [FoM]Auchi, NadhmiAyers, Bill Farrakhan, Louis Obama, BarakRezko, TonyWright, Jeremiah
Needless to say Reagan's career, political and otherwise was/is very mixed. The Corruption of Ronald Reaganer oh I'm sorry St. Ronnie ;)By his own admission, Reagan immediately aligned himself with the corrupt Teamsters and other mob-connected unions in an effort to combat Hollywood Reds. A sweetheart relationship developed between MCA and the guild, which culminated in July 1952 during Reagan's fifth consecutive term as SAG's president. The agreement violated SAG's bylaws. At the end of Reagan's fifth term, he began to have serious financial problems, particularly with the IRS. In response, MCA negotiated a deal with the Last Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas--which was then operated by Chicago mobsters--for Reagan to host a song-and-dance show for two weeks and to receive enough money to cover his back tax debt. Despite his status as a television producer, Reagan remained on SAG's board in another violation of the guild's bylaws, which prohibited producers from holding office in SAG. In 1959, when Reagan ran for an unprecedented sixth term as SAG's president, his opponents raised the bylaws issue. Publicly, Reagan denied that he had ever produced The General Electric Theater--a flat-out lie. The contract that Reagan and company arranged with the studios is still known in Hollywood as "The Great Giveaway"; it provided residuals for actors only from films made after 1960. This greatly benefited MCA, which had purchased the film library of Paramount Pictures in 1959. Now, MCA could keep all the profits. In 1962, the Justice Department filed a federal antitrust suit against MCA on the basis that it was both a talent agency and a production company; SAG was charged as a coconspirator. Reagan was the subject of criminal and civil investigations by both the FBI and a federal grand jury in Los Angeles. A Justice Department memorandum quoted a Hollywood source as saying, "Ronald Reagan is a complete slave of MCA who would do their bidding on anything." Reagan was subpoenaed before the grand jury, but he appeared to experience amnesia during his testimony on February 5, 1962, and failed to recall the major decisions that had been made when SAG had granted MCA the exclusive blanket waiver in 1952. Federal prosecutors were so convinced that Reagan had perjured himself repeatedly during his testimony that they subpoenaed his and his wife's income tax returns for the years 1952 to 1955. Nancy Reagan had been a member of SAG's board of directors since 1951. > Deeply affected by the breakup of MCA, Reagan, a lifelong Democrat, became an anti-big government Republican. He had been urged to do so by his own political mentor, Taft Schreiber, a longtime MCA vice president, and by MCA's founder, Jules Stein, both of whom were active in Republican politics. >As President, Reagan watched as his Justice Department quashed major federal investigations of the Mafia’s penetration of both MCA and the entire motion picture industry, which were being conducted by the Los Angeles office of the U.S. Strike Force Against Organized Crime. Two highly respected Strike Force prosecutors, Marvin Rudnick and Richard Stavin, lost their jobs because of their refusal to succumb to pressure from the Reagan Administration. ~~~~~Again, if one is looking for a saint, it behooves one to totally avoid politics ...Dare I say, Reagan was straight out of central casting :) much like JFK and Obama.
Dione Warwick, what a beautiful voice!
Let's get real about who really supports him:Some of the biggest oil producers and servicers, including BP, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Chevron, Conoco and Marathon Oil joined with defense giants like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, multinationals like Dow Chemical and Fluor and the high-powered law firm White & Case to form the US-Libya Business Association in 2005. The members of its executive advisory council each pay $20,000 in annual dues to the group, which is managed by the National Foreign Trade Council, a coalition that seeks to facilitate international opportunities for U.S. companies. Most of the group's members have lobbied the U.S. government since 2004 to protect their investments in Libya or to iron out business problems with the regime.
