A bad omen for the Packers?

Rush Limbaugh laid out the bird theory of this weekend's Wild Card playoff games:
If we were to go Environmentalist Wacko Method this week, every bird team would lose, and lose bad.  What's happening out there?  Birds are falling out of the sky.  Scientists are trying to figure out why.  But if you go the environmentalist wacko route, the Seahawks (birds) lose. Ravens (birds) lose. Eagles (birds) lose.  The only game that doesn't feature a bird team is the Jets and the Colts -- and the Jets, nevertheless, are in the air -- and some birds die because they get sucked in by the jets, but the Jets aren't playing a bird team.  So the environmentalist wacko method for the Jets and Colts, again, you'd have to go Colts on that because Colts are horses -- wild, American history, cavalry, cowboys, Indians, so forth.  Jets, they're just expensive. They pollute, foul mouth, lousy service, all the things you gotta go through to get on one these days at the TSA. You gotta strip search. You'd have to say the Colts.  The environmental wacko method would have the Colts, the Saints, the "Cheaps," and the Packers going the environmental wacko method.
So far he's wrong. The Jets and the Seahawks have won.  So, that's a bad omen for the Packers.

Can't wait to hear Troop's take on this.

Since I'm no longer in the Delaware Valley and, thus, have no real dog here, I'm non-partisan, but, if th' Iggles win, I won't cry.

RUSH: The Saints aren't the team that they were last year. But the Seahawks, if you look at home, were creamed by teams in the Saints league by 22, 18, 32 points. I mean... (sigh) If there is a lock this weekend, it's the Saints over the Seahawks.

(My emphasis.)

Plus the teams with the green uniforms won yesterday. And both teams were from blue states.

But Iggles are green and so are the Packers. And PA and WI are blue states too. So I guess we have to resort to rock, paper, scissors to make our predictions. As an Iggles fan, I would add both teams are coached by kinda brain-dead head coaches so that is a toss up too.

hmmmmm and there is also the potential that mass bird deaths have something to do with running into some particularly noxious air from the EIB studios..... just a hunch.

WI is not a blue state anymore. Republican governor. Both houses of the legislature are Republican. We just elected a new Republican Senator. 5 or our 8 members of the House are Republican (including Paul Ryan).

Althouse- I could say the same about PA. However, I'd hold off on changing the political color of a state until after its voters have switched allegiance in a prez election.

Packers are going to lose b/c all the Wild Card upsets were used up yesterday.

Paddy- I will shocked if the Ravens don't win pretty easily.

"So far he's wrong."

No, so far the environmentalist wacko system is wrong. But, then again, we already knew that. It's always wrong.

This just proves the foolishness of believing in omens.

He gets some digs in at the watermelons, and it lets him talk about football - which is what he really wants to do - without getting a bunch of screeching complaints from purists.

I'm a Packer fan and I'm very much hoping for a win today...but the way the world works, the "bad" Packers will show up, the animal-abuser will probably play his best game ever and end up winning the league MVP award.

Yeah, I'm feeling a little beat down these days. LOL

Rush was right about the Eagles. Even if it was close.

But Vick is a dog murderer.

How did I miss a comment thread on the Packers?

Well, I blame not wading into the althouse commentariat sh*tstorm on Giffords et al.

Actually, I predict the Packers will defeat the Eagles, even in Philly. In a surprise, they will march down to ATL and completely destroy the Falcons. After the Bears dispatch the Seahawks, the Pack will have to beat the Bears. I must say, though, Cutler has been kind of a wimp lately, and I don't expect him to finish the game. Look for the Pack to beat the Steelers (you heard it here first) by just under a touchdown.
