Scary — our theme of the day.

What's the scariest thing on the blog so far today?
Nixon!
Scalia!
Incest!
Someone said "Fuck the President."
Clinton attempted to take over the presidency.
Clinton, lured by the imprecation "Fuck the President," attempted to take over the presidency.
"High-speed" rail.
Ethnic stereotypes from 1973.
Sarah Palin!
Sarah Palin mocking men as "limp" and "impotent."
Women who restrict men to 3 words.
Wikileaks.
Ron Paul!
The witch in "Snow White."

It has to be high speed rail. The rest are just words.

What!?! I'm the only vote for Nixon?

Kids these days. I swear.

To me it's still yesterday's semi-abdication by our semi-President.

P.S.
Anyone else see Bing today? Kinda topical and funny.

The scariest thing would be Obama showing up for work again on Monday. Like an employee who quits early on Friday to attend a party, and then has the nerve to show up for work on Monday like nothing happened.

Hey, Ann, it's Xmas season, y'know? Ho-Ho-Ho, God rest ye merry, peace on Earth, precious bodily fluids and all that. I thought scary was a Halloween theme.

Personally I don't believe WJC attempted to usurp the Presidency. Obama abdicated while while good old boy Willie was in the same room. The rest was merely nature taking its presumptive course.

As mentioned twice already:

Rumours from WH insiders that our President has become apathetic and disengaged.

@Fen

Ya think?

Next to the fact we have a schoolboy for President, that he ran to an emotional three year old for help when in trouble is also pretty scary.

I guess Pelosi Galore and Dingy Harry represent the adults in the Democrat Party.

Something truly scary.

After quitting his job, George Costanza returns to work like nothing happened.

Scary - incest, because this is playing out just as Scalia warned in Lawrence v. Texas.

First gay sodomy will be legal.
Then gay marriage.
Then polygamy between consenting adults.
Throw in a little polyandry.
Start the legal challenges to legitimize incest between consenting adults and teens even under age of consent if their partner sibling is of the age range that doesn't trigger statutory rape charges.
Bestiality if it involves a consenting adult and a beast that animal psychologists consulting on a case determine really likes the coupling.

================
Nixon isn't scary. People forget just how popular a competent leader can be in troubled times. The liberal media will fight till the last 60s leftist dies to keep Nixon demonized, but his stock will keep rising. It helps people like Lincoln to be followed by a Johnson, a Clinton to be followed by a Bush and Obama. Or come in and take over from the "real long national nightmare" of Ford and Carter.

And once again, Ron Paul gets the Rodney Dangerfield treatment. "I tell ya, I get no respect at all!"

Pick Clinton, Pick Clinton, I hear Ann screaming.

Richard Nixon maintained a 55-65% approval rating throught his 1st 4 years. He won the largest electoral vote margin ever in his re-election, if my hs studies were right.

By far and away, Nixon had more individual votes cast for him in his political career than anyone who has been a President.
And while with odious character flaws, Nixon, more than anyone since FDR, made the world a less scary place. Total War, even Global thermonuclear war was THINKABLE before Nixon-Kissinger. Detente made it all but impossible for either side to seriously see it happening. Nuclear stockpiles began drawing down, and Nixon unilaterally began the end of chemical and biowarfare weaponry.

I wish CLinton could take over. He's competent.

Actually no, her poll is designed to split the Clinton vote into two categories that are almost identical. Flaw.

And there is no "other" for us to pick if, as in this case, "Obama Abdication" is not included. Flaw.

No, he just papered everything over, so all his problems would have to be faced by his successor.

Remember, subprime mortgages were his idea.

The scariest thing is not on the blog. The scariest thing is the total silence as to which Republicans the tax deal was "negotiated" with and just exactly what happened here, not to mention that "Dingey" Harry is now busy loading the proposed bill up with unpublicized special deals, which ought to sink the bill for both parties, but the White House and "leading Republicans" as well as some financial gurus are still promoting it.

Of what is on the blog, I voted for High Speed Rail, since it is emblematic of the foolishness of our government spending proposals.

God I hope that happens. Because this bill sucks. The GOP gave up another trillion dollar payout to Friends of Obama in exchange for a 2-year deal that reduces taxes on the wealthy by 3.4%.

Deep-six this abomination and retroactively reinstate the taxes next session when your hand is stronger.

It's the deadly combination of your options:

The wicked witch who fucks the limp and impotent ethnic President, but restricts her man to three words and makes him attend a Christmas party, leaving the Bill Clinton who attempts to take over the presidency and run the President out of town on a "high-speed" rail ... while the New York Times tries to scare us by chanting, in its NewAge way, "Sarah Palin! Ron Paul! Nixon! Wikileaks! Ooga-booga!"

Too late, the GOP owns it now, they've been outplayed, it's a lose-lose no matter if they pass the deal or not. The media has their script.

I thought about the presser yesterday and why Obama would purposely seek out the press with Clinton the bloviator in tow. He's setting up the same "blame the GOP" narrative Clinton successfully ran on Newt & Dole. The Post is already spinning the presser in Obama's favor.

I keep hearing about the tax increase being no big deal for the rich, well how about the hundreds of thousands of small businesses filing under Subchapter S? How many of them can absorb another 3.4% in overhead costs?

The 2% payroll tax cut is a joke. Just whom do you think will benefit most from a 2% decrease in their FICA taxes? Someone grossing the contribution ceiling of $106,800 or more or those grossing $60k a year? (Here's a real stunner)

2011 FICA Tax and Social Security Limits:

* FICA Tax Rate = 7.65%
* Social Security Limit = $106,800
* Maximum Social Security Contribution = $6,621.60

Even so it will be a piddling amount per taxpayer and SS & Medicare will go further in the red...which I'm beginning to think Obama is saying to himself; Faster, please.

As I posted in an earlier thread, Obama's other hand is always running the real play. The faster he can gut Medicare, the sooner a crisis arises and the resulting single payer health care system "bail out" and one more check mark on Obama's socialism to-do list.
