Obama met with black bloggers, who "essentially told the White House that we are not willing to be 'pimped.'"

"Oh, we used better articulation, but it was direct and could not be taken out of context, misunderstood or ignored."

We who support the President and the Vice President often convey things in a round-about manner. As it happens, I know many African-American bloggers. They all support the White House. All. Each and everyone of them. It is over for the GOP and Tea Party. These media tactics will not/never work. We will be victories in Nov. 2010 and in Nov. 2012. In fact, you should talk about these victories in past tense, as they happened already (as I just told you so).

American Politico says,

"Some of my best friends are [black] bloggers. I ALWAYS use "black" as an homage to Malcolm X, if he lived we wouldn't have all of these pc terms. Or, in the words of the Godfather of soul, "SAY IT LOUD...I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD....HUH!"

This president may be served worse by Valerie Jarrett than by any other aid. She is his yes woman and feeds the elite, aloof, side of this prez.

You are also deranged and delusional.

I find America's Politico to be entertaining. Think of it as either 1) parody or 2) the most clueless Democrat on the internet, next to Baghdad Bob

So Hippy Punching is not appreciated by Black Bloggers either. Wow, is Obama disliked by everybody. Next time around he might consider not trying to destroy Israel so openly.

He should also have meetings with dwarf bloggers, and Eskimo bloggers, and Burmese bloggers, just to keep the illusion of being the post-racial president alive.

"I think we made it clear that we want to be taken just as seriously and receive the same measure of access as the mainstream outlets already do,” she said. “This was a good first date. Now let’s see if there some substance there going forward.”

Yes, she really thinks Obama will respect her in the morning.

Its just as Rush said - some people want to be enslaved.

I'm shocked to see how many people still bite on AP's schtick. My first guess is that it's Trooper, with my second choice of Hoosier.

Fen is right about America's Politico. He actually reminds us daily of how easy it is to "Report" as facts a total fiction. The need to sound real was the co-ordination problem that lead to Journolist as a solution among reporters of fiction, all of whom were versions of America's Politico. I blame Truman Capote's hoax of a "report of the facts" that he became famous for writing called In Cold Blood.

"My first guess is that it's Trooper"

Wouldn't that blogging roach and the old ghost character be better fits w/ Trooper? Does, it seem like comments from those two come and go w/ Trooper's participation.

And, speaking of sock puppets, what are the odds that Althouse uses them?

traditionalguy said...

Minzo...Scripture contains certain covenant promises made under oath by God to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The special promise basically says that if anyone curses the Hebrew people, that God will then curse them. I did not write that, but only report the observable data. Good luck with that Michelle.

It took me a while to realize it, but America's Politico is engaging in parody - and probably laughing at those of us who fail to realize it. (That line about "I know many African-American bloggers" - priceless!)

AP has the same "voice" as Titus, it's not dissociative -there's a better term for it.

But since I'm almost half a mick I can't think of it....

Jet Magazineand Co.'s sure getting cocky (Ha! - I said "cocky") but "we are not willing to be 'pimped',..." doesn't change what they are, but announces how they do business - like Johns care.

And I'm so glad America's Politico says there "will be victories in Nov. 2010" so there's also no wait to see his possible reaction to being wrong. How will he handle it? Keep up the Tokyo Rose routine? Come to his senses? Devolve into a nebulous hatred? Just disappear? What? Which reminds me: add "popcorn" to election night shopping list.

They won't be pimped? So why are they still standing on the corner wearing door knockers? Who are these people kidding? They will do what he wants and print what he wants. The only question is the price. Some church guy in NYC called Obama a long legged mack daddy; well, that's what he is for these bloggers and the media. Some people just like being smacked around. Bunch of corner girls!

Interesting The Zero feels he can't even trust blacks if they're bloggers. Got to stifle any independent opinion.

PS I'd say Titus has a lot more "imagination" than AP, but the idea that he's satire has occurred to me, too. Not even Cook is that far removed from reality.

Well...

You read the whole article and not once does the Times reveal what was "black" about Obama's appeal to blacks to support him. In other words what's in it for "us," us being yo, I'm black too Obama and his black brothas, as opposed to "them," them being whitey. Maybe because even the Times understands that you don't expose the blatant racism of your boy.

Far be it from me to defend Ti-, I mean Troop, but based on his 'histories,' he's writes very well and is funny as hell.

The ghost was extremely well-written, but I don't especially think that was Trooper, though based on his 'histories,' I guess it could have been.

"Black Liberation Theology will only accept the love of a God that participates in the destruction of the White enemy" - Dr Cone, in defense of Obama's racist "church".

[...]

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has defended himself against charges of anti-Americanism and racism by referring to his foundational philosophy, the "black liberation theology" of scholars such as James Cone, who regard Jesus Christ as a "black messiah" and blacks as "the chosen people" who will only accept a god who assists their aim of destroying the "white enemy."

"If God is not for us and against white people," writes Cone, "then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community."

On Titus: I believe Titus to be a construct, a composite character, with a storyline created and presented by a small group of intelligent, resourceful, clever and creative people who enjoy testing and pushing the edge to see what happens. His tone and focus frequently shift and change, as does his "voice" with some of the words and expressions he uses sounding remarkably similar to those used by some of the commentors on Trooper Yorks blog.

There is a mischief making quality to his comments, as well as a sharp edge that borders on meanness.

He disrupts, hijacks, lampoons and walks the edge of convention and circumspection by using words to create graphic mental images.

He's a clever guy, but the voice, personality and story portrayed are not consistent with one real person.

Sure there was - that's why I don't understand why you consider it "self-promotional", when even you are positive I've probably covered whatever the subject is (and made a correct call on it) years ago.

Problem?

I like the rework on your blog Crack. Very nice, easier on the eyes.

I know most people have figured out how Dems divide people up by race, I'm just wondering how long it will be before people get really sick of it.

Funny thing is race has become a non-factor in most people's daily interactions. I live in a fairly traditional conservative area and my next door neighbors are black, at our parish church mixed race couples are so normal it isn't even worthy of comment.

Yet our president divides visitors up by race and meets with the "black" ones, then others. These guys aren't just not post racial. They're racist. They deliberately divide people up by race because they think different races think differently.

"I want my doctor's office to be run just like the DMV, and that's #WhyImVotingDemocrat"

I went to the DMV last week to renew my drivers license. The renewal took 2 minutes, but the wait in line was 2 hours - all the way around the building.

If not for their monopoly, they would all be out of business. A perfect example of a government operation that should be privatized. I could pay twice as much and be 4 times as satisfied, but I bet a private operation could make money even charging much less than the state does.

Furthermore, my doctor office visits rarely cost me more than about 30 minutes total. The doctor charges a similar amount as for the average simple DMV transaction, but he's a freaking doctor with fancy equipment and hot nurses. The DMV has a computer and some very stressed out chairs.

Mark said...

"Few details about either of those events — even the complete list of invitees — ever leaked out. But some of the bloggers who visited the White House on Monday apparently felt unbound by the ground rules."

The NYTimes sounds so, so prissy about this. How dare they commit journalism? Didn't those uppity bloggers know this was about circling the wagons and getting the party line straight?

Meh. I don't know, MamaM. I've never gotten the different tone, etc., not that I have read Titus that closely. I find it hard to believe that the one's I've observed at Trooper's place would be into that sort of thing. Titus is way over the top. And you're correct about the mean thing, except it is outright, not bordered upon.

Titus does nothing for the place, really. I'd rather see more of the ghost, the cockroach, Baron Zemo, etc.

I have been consulting/campaigning/advising all day. We have to meet our target: 224 in the House and 54 in the Senate. I was helping the DE GOTV.

Look, do not get me wrong, I stand for truth and the American way.

There is no change - no chance in hell - that GOP has any chance in 2010 or 2012. There is a greater chance of snow falling in DC on July 4, then GOP gaining anything in the House and Senate (in 2010) or coming close to the Presidency (in 2012).

The effort planned by us - all who support the President and VP - is so huge that you all are totally off-base. As I said before: GOP is the party of the dead. Give up now or be disappointed on 11/3/10.

@ Sixty Grit

I consider the creators of Titus to be canny, clever and adroit in their ability to use words to manipulate, circumvent, distract and ridicule.

I do not consider the character represented to be clever or creative. He appears to be an attempt by others to amuse themselves, challenge convention, and serve as an outlet, while caricaturing gay sexual expression as reckless, shallow, and self serving.

jungatheart said...

MamaM, I still disagree about a collaborative effort, but some thought is put into making him seem real, such as coming from Wisconsin, making plans to care for aging parents, etc.

But, all in all, I don't know if this is someone who is fulfilling a gay outlet, or hates gays, or is indifferent.

AP,

Then there are many African American bloggers you don't know as there are many who do NOT support the president. These African American bloggers are interested in the saving of the country more than playing games with racists like Obama.

And if you read the comments to this article in the NYT you will find that the normally reliable hard left orientation of the comments is against Obama here. A couple of the commenters even mention that prior presidents, dating back to before Carter held meetings with journalist off the minority press, black, Latino, Asian, Gay, Feminist and had special advisors who dealt with this same press. What Zero is doing is nothing new except that he is trying to parlay his meeting into campaign rhetoric instead of using the time to find out what is important to the various minorities and letting them know what he is working on and asking for advice from them. All the other presidents knew this and had the class to act that way. Only this race pimp we have in office now is different.
