If I go to Cafe Who, will I learn why I am?Here's hoping.
Nice pic, by the way.
Right now I am about pine nuts. I've got a big swath of basil due to be picked for pesto, and Costco stopped selling pine nuts.I looked into it and stumbled across a bunch of internet posts about how Costco sells Chinese pine nuts which are attracting criticism for distorting people's taste for days after ingestion. That might explain why the nuts are gone. If so, I don't want them anyway.Went to upscale Central Market. $25.00 a pound. Ouch.
Who is on first? I dunno but at the end of this link is the "Why" Ann is looking for.At the end of this entry is a link to "WHO is on First"
I saw Avatar in the theater when it came out, in 3d and yet I add it to my Netflix.. Why did I do that? Its here now and I have no desire to see it again.
Let us talk about what's important. Put that coffee down.Who will lead the GOP in 2016?Where are they today? How to help them become leaders in next six years? How to protect them from undue visibility by associating with Romney/Palin/Gingrich/Huckabee/Jindal, etc.?Take it away...
You and Meade live in a nice place. Very pretty; as I said in a post about a year ago, it says "Home".HDHouse said... Who is on first? I dunno but at the end of this link is the "Why" Ann is looking for. At the end of this entry is a link to "WHO is on First"That's "Who's on first?"
First Dog, Bo, knows who he is! Bo traveled in style to join his vacationing family, "[a]rriving in a small jet before the Obamas."The Morning Sentinel swiftly published a clarification:Today's story about the arrival of the Obamas said the Obama's dog and one aide arrived on a small jet before the First Family, but there were other occupants on the plane, including several other staffers. The presidential party took two small jets to the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton because the airport was too small to accommodate the president's usual jet.
I think Bo knows who's boss, and so does his master.PS Quasar takes a similar stance, but, until that opposable paw comes along, I still have the upper hand.PPS Woof to the poodles, Irene.
David - Try the What Cafe first and then the Why. Often, if you have the what and the why you get the who. Great cloud formations.
Wonderfully written thoughts on Harvey Pekar's passing.First, from Tony Bourdain.Second, from William Grimes of the New York Times.Third, in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
A road shirt.
I am perplexed about all the shoes I see on the highway. Just a shoe sitting there, all alone. Is this a Central Ohio problem, or are other riders throwing shoes out of car windows? And now, shirts, too? What gives? Why?Toy
Beautiful and wonderfully alluring.Just wanted to add that before I look at the comments...
So now I have glanced the comments...I'm gonna just scootch a seat over here and read along...That damn photo has me all settled down and sublime, and I mean the very nice kind:http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sublimeand no other...thanks to Althouse and Meade. No drugs other than beer involved...some sleep loss this week though...Lovely photo!
When The Garden Turns WillfulThe chairs are frozen...The couple has fled the sceneWhere thrashing grass threatensAnd trees totter vertiginouslyAnd the sky careens. The two have gone insideTo recover their bearingsAnd consider what to do. When the garden turns willful, Will not be a friend...The chairs are frozenThe chairs are in shock.

Adirondack chairs. Lovely. Easy to fall into, but a heckuva lot harder to remove yourself. It always feels like you're bench pressing your own body weight.
Something major coming from Wikileaks + WaPo on Monday.I wonder what it will be...???It's not the Journolist archive. Wikileaks doesn't have that.P.S. The internet is deteriorating. So many programmers are letting the little details fall into disrepair-- like the "visual verification" that doesn't show any visual image on this here Blogger comment page... An-noy-ing!!!

Penny wrote: Adirondack chairs. Lovely. Easy to fall into, but a heckuva lot harder to remove yourself. True. Canvas deck chairs are even worse.wv = "rearylit" yeah, I know I'm "behind" in my reading, but quit being such a smart ass about it OK word verification?
Lovely pic!Why is Obama now claiming hte health insurance mandate is a tx?While Congress was working on the health care legislation, Mr. Obama refused to accept the argument that a mandate to buy insurance, enforced by financial penalties, was equivalent to a tax. “For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase,” the president said last September, in a spirited exchange with George Stephanopoulos on the ABC News program “This Week.” When Mr. Stephanopoulos said the penalty appeared to fit the dictionary definition of a tax, Mr. Obama replied, “I absolutely reject that notion.” Congress anticipated a constitutional challenge to the individual mandate. Accordingly, the law includes 10 detailed findings meant to show that the mandate regulates commercial activity important to the nation’s economy. Nowhere does Congress cite its taxing power as a source of authority……Moreover, the department says the penalty is a tax because it will raise substantial revenue: $4 billion a year by 2017, according to the Congressional Budget Office. In addition, the department notes, the penalty is imposed and collected under the Internal Revenue Code, and people must report it on their tax returns “as an addition to income tax liability.” ny time
I would tend to agree with Obama that it's not a tax for people would use the service (healthcare) yet fail to pay into the system. It's more like a fee-for- service (but a very inefficient one). It's too inhumane to turn such people away at the emergency room.Their mothers should have taught them better: that nothing-not even healthcare, is free. The unconscionable sin in the whole HCR was the planned obsolescence of high deductible health insurance. Why would any sane government want to discourage people from paying their way for expenses up to a certain limit?I know the answer, and I don't like it.
I really like this picture for some reason. The clouds look very energetic.
Others ask, "Why not". The two empty chairs indicate that two lovers left them for indoor sport. Besides, kissing in adirondak chairs requires too much effort.
HD,Those are some awesome classical posts on your blog, dude! The Faure is stunning. The Vaugh Williams is excellent. You, sir, are a man of excellent taste.
"You and Meade live in a nice place. Very pretty; as I said in a post about a year ago, it says "Home"."It's not our property, you realize. It's part of a public garden that is free to all.
Belmont club the wise Kagan and ignoring the Constitution.Althouse has still to share the hidden secret of judicial decisionmaking.
I asked Meade if he understood why I called the post the Café Why and he easily came up with 2 reasons, which were exactly what I had in mind. These reasons have nothing to do with any inside knowledge Meade has from knowing me, and no one else here has mentioned either thing. This among many other reasons I why I go with Meade.Correction: Wen got 1 (I think).
am perplexed about all the shoes I see on the highway. Just a shoe sitting there, all alone. Is this a Central Ohio problem, or are other riders throwing shoes out of car windows? And now, shirts, too? What gives? Why?I have flickr photos under the tag roadclothing and shoes are special in that1. Every shoe pic gets favorited by somebody on flickr2. The actual shoe is gone within three days.
Well, I see a Y in the path, and a Y in the clouds.Why?
