I've always found the contrast of wet tree trunks and branches against the liming white of snow to be one of nature's most beautiful arrangements.

* Can we finally begin the plan to takeover Canada?

* A U.S. Rep. laughed about saying the Pledge of Allegiance. What to do about it is at the link.

* Here's a quote from Teaparty and libertarian icon (and Glenn Reynolds face) Ayn Rand: "[He] no regard whatsoever for all that society holds sacred, and with a consciousness all his own. He has the true, innate psychology of a Superman. He can never realize and feel 'other people.'" She was referring to a serial killer. No, really.

What if the accumulated snow storms made glaciers to flow back into the places they were in 10,000 years ago? What if? What a revolting development that would be.

Again, those trees don't look like you've had all that much, just a dusting of wet snow.

That's a scene that takes me back to the early 60s and getting ready to go home for the day from school in the last weeks before Christmas.

Funny the things that take you back.

Have I told you today how much I hate the new comments system?

No matter. By the time I get through all the screens, it'll be tomorrow anyway.

"Have I told you today how much I hate the new comments system?"

What is different that you don't like? The window on the post page? I can get rid of that, but I was trying to do what somebody else told me was important.

Ann Althouse said...

I changed it.

Happy now?

Ann Althouse said...

@Saint Russell Thank you for drawing my attention to something stupid I did. It should work now.

Thank you! RSS is all happy now.

That fixed it, all right. The good thing about going straight to the posting page for me is that the Firefox extension that I call "STFU, Lonewacko" but its author calls CollapseComments works only on the posting page. So this change saves me a click.

It's a big plus to be able to hit "end" and reach the end of the comments, rather than the end of the (very long) blog roll.

the Firefox extension that I call "STFU, Lonewacko"

LOL!
