Ohio has frozen fog.
Winter is on hiatus for a week or so. Now it's Let's track dirt/salt/sand/water into the house season.
Good one, rh.In any case, Ann, you will probably be flying back into a bit of a thaw (does anything thaw before June in WI?), if the NE OH forecast for the next 10 days means anything to your neck of the North Woods - sunny starting today and temps here above freezing. It looks like you had fun down there and I hope you enjoyed your first married birthday in a while.WV "tesseses" How a drunk spells Tennessee.
The Snow Birds return while the snow is still there. But in your steamheated Madison bungalo you two should be fine until the sun moves back north to join you.
I miss central Texas. Lived there for five and half years. And every day I miss it a bit more.
rhhardin: Ohio has frozen fog.Is that what I'm scraping off of my windshield? Now it all makes sense...
Now that's just weird. There was a post about the Kimber Hotel, I followed the link (and was impressed), came back to Althouse and the post was gone. Did I just imagine it? Maybe I'll check my Intertube "history" to make sure I'm not losing it.
We're about to pack up and fly back to winter. Are you're sure that's what you want to do?
Our city street department is out "Removing snow" from city sidewalks and at intersections. But, we're having a true January thaw, so welcome back to the Land of the North. Fly safely and land softly!wv: smshing, what everyone does after being out all night!
We're about to pack up and fly back to winter.Swing by Miami on your way, Ann and Meade! After frigid temperatures for two weeks, we're about to hit 78/80 this Friday. And it'll stay there.Cheers,Victoria
Arkansas had frozen fog yesterday. It looked like glitter in the air.
OT: Heads up, guys. I think The Daily Caller has been hacked. This screen pops up asking for a weird login. Here is a screencapture.
Nice having you down here. Y'all come back soon.
Thanks, Mr. Carter.
I was in Austin once for a week in the mid-'90s.I was fascinated by the billboards for churches. You don't get many of those in L.A.I was more fascinated by half being for churches, and the other half for strip clubs.
Victoria, Looks more like a boo-boo by the site devs. Well, that screenshot looks like someone trying to log into the dev site, so if it was obtained by someone trying to visit the site normally, it's most likely a little routing boo-boo.
A reporter gets roughed up by a Martha Coakley goon and Althouse goes awol ;)
Dank u wel, Blake. :)
As always, the Alt-photos are excellent - but I think you have to be in love... to love Austin. The colors are engaging, but behind the signage the town looks like dried mud. When the camera searches for interest, it's on the side of a building or inside a restaurant. Ann, before you leave, maybe you can capture a picture of children playing, signs of life beating in Austin, some indication the town is more than its muddy, commercial parts.
I was in Florida this past week end. A cold day with palm trees as background is more dispiriting than slush.
Ann, before you leave, maybe you can capture a picture of children playing, signs of life beating in Austin, some indication the town is more than its muddy, commercial parts.Trust me, there's life out there. I could post pictures of kids playing (I won't, because I value my nephews' privacy), but there's a lot going on. Even the 'burbs have cacti in the medians, bike paths, and so on. It's not like most places.wv: biatchop. A move that the biatch performs when she does karate?
Another very nice photo. It says what it says and so much more. I'd have to go in that place. Cool beans, Ann.
wv: biatchop. A move that the biatch performs when she does karate?LOL!wv: hanes. Wait 'til I get my hanes on you, said the biatch.
