Dems are gonna steal it, one way or the other.
Ed Schultz is already on the record as saying he would resort to cheating in order to win. More proof that having a D besides your name only illustrates that you are a danger, deranged, and a disaster for this country. Leftism, isn't it grand?
Dead voters called it early in a seance with the Boston Globe.Cheers,Victoria
Coakley is alleging voting fraud with complaints dated yesterday.

"talk about what it all means."Althouse presents a Rorschach test.... what will we learn about the the commenters. P.S. My favorite commenters are the ones who write w/ complete devotion and earnestness to the self-perceived wisdom of their "insights". Ha ha.
According to Politico the Coakley campaign sent a memo to DC party headquarters effectively blaming them for her poor campaign. They were not too happy and responded in kind. The White House responded that "it is mind boggling to spin the election before it is over. There is only one reason for that."Win, lose, or draw- Coakley is a total loser.
Former Boston mayor, Ray Flynn, Democrat just said he voted for Scott Brown.Okay, now I believe.
Chum for Hillbillies....I agree with Scrappleface, unless Brown wins 60% of the vote Coakley is the Winner, Yeah Marcia!
Polls close at 7:30 PM, says Wolf Blitzer. Interesting, they close at 7 PM here, even during special elections.Going to dinner, will be on Althouse all night (God willing), no matter who wins.Cheers,Victoria
Scenario: Brown wins. GOPS gets egotistical and thinks it was an anti-Obama message. They then think that their fat white old out-of-touch corrupt men will be able to stroll to easy victories in 2010. WRONG!GOP continues to flail until someone comes along who can cut through the corruption and bullshit while remaining affable, acting inclusive, and looking forward. See Thatcher, M. Meanwhile, House approves Senate HCR bill. No other Leftist legislative initiates go anywhere. Any further Obama progress is made by executive decree. Andrew Sullivan realizes that Xanax can really help deal with his paranoia of nihilist conspiracies.
This motivational poster says it allWe can't let the zombies and dead out vote us.
No matter who wins, there is one eternal truth that we can not overstate.BOSTON SUCKS!
The results are in..."Hoarific arborescence""Stark rime makes a photo sublime""Frozen dendrite done right"
Apparently even the Mass. Sec. of State isn't taking the complaints seriously.
If you don't believe me, just ask Teddy Ballgame!
If Brown wins, my serious question is whether even a perfectly healthy Teddy could have won handily in this climate.
Win, lose, or draw- Coakley is a total loser. She certainly ran an incompetent campaign: insulting Catholics and Red Sox fans, misspelling the state, pre-dating the voter fraud allegation wrongly, etc.Every once in awhile, the stars align: a hack gets exposed as truly a hack. And poetic justice and irony are served to turn the Kennedy lifelong Senate seat in the bluest of states to give the Republicans the 41st vote to block healthcare being rammed down our throats.
Not at the dinner table Trooper ;)BTW - Boston is beautiful.
I mean they pulled out all the stops on this one. They left no tuna can unturned in this election.Marcia could have been a contenda, but instead she got a one way ticket to palookaville.(Which means she had to stay in beantown)
(Back briefly -- polls in Mass close at 8 PM, CORRECTION)
"Chum for Hillbillies....I agree with Scrappleface, unless Brown wins 60% of the vote Coakley is the Winner, Yeah Marcia!"Thanks, Joe!
Polls close 8PM.In the meantime, let's go back to the future with some entertaining political inspiration:Spring Cleaning
The Coakley campaign was sort of like a disorganized Nazi Brownshirt Rally- a lot of angry thugs with nowhere to go.I agree with Trooper- Boston Sucks.
Lem, baby, you have to come over to the dark side. Resistance is futile. If you persist in your folly, someday you too may lose your head!
Trooper!! thats no way to treat the best baseball hitter of all time!No more beer for you until you behave.Tonight we are all Bostonians.
More proof that having a D besides your name only illustrates that you are a danger, deranged, and a disaster for this countryNahh, it's just that scintillating sense of humor that makes Ed Schultz "the Limbaugh of the Left."You guys need a sense of humor tune-up, Honest to Pete.
Hey if she loses she can still be Chancellor of Germany.
You guys need a sense of humor tune-up, Honest to Pete. What are you talking about? I've been laughing my ass off since Obama fucked up his swearing in ceremony.
What's it mean...if Brown wins?Up is down and down is up per another Seinfeld episode where George played a bad boy.
Who the heck is Pete?
I just hacked into the Massachusettes state computers...Coakely and Brown both lost. Someone named Marcia is the winner. Heh.
Smell it obama...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85yMOPKR94M
I've been laughing my ass off since Obama fucked up his swearing in ceremony.True, the first mistake Obama made was blindly trusting one of W.'s appointees.
Lem, baby, you have to come over to the dark side. Where is Mort when you need him?
Lem, Lem, my poor deluded Dominican friend. Everybody knows who the best hitter in baseball is!Anytime he hits on something, he scores.
True, the first mistake Obama made was blindly trusting one of W.'s appointees. Can't agree more which proves my point that he doesn't have the experience to run a hot dog stand.
What I really worry about is ...does this mean I have to like the Red Sox?
AJ Lynch:Up is down and down is up per another Seinfeld episode where George played a bad boy.You and I are told increasingly that we have to chose between a left and right. Well, I'd like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There's only an up or down. Up to man's own old-age dream-- the idea of the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order-- or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity or their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.1964
You don't have to like the Red Sox, you don't even have to tolerate them. You should however encourage them when they do the right thing!
It appears that the Pick Up Truck Republicans have thrown King Obama's tea into Boston harbor. The blue dogs are all going to be at their GM p/u truck dealers first thing in the morning. This is a threat to DemonRat social order coming from educated voters given a clean moderate Republican to throw their support to.
Seriously, I am worried about Andrew Sullivan. Have you been reading his blog of late? If Brown wins, someone needs to go to Sullivan's house and hide all the razors.Seriously.
Seriously, I will say that I do respect the Red Sox Fans because they really love their team. The whole family gets behind the team. Especially the proud mom's! (Not safe for work, but prefect for a blog about ta-ta's, so to speak)
You asked for it Titus, you got it buddy.
... let's watch the election results and talk about what it all means.Well, part of it, it was clear that Coakley felt entitled to the seat. Obama coming to the reacue (the personification of entitlement) only may have served to strengthen that view.
Martha, Marsha, Marla?Hey didn't Donald Trump marry that girl once?
I meant rescue.. sorry.
Via Rasmussen:"Polls closed in Massachusetts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern in the race between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown.Preliminary results include: * Among those who decided how they would vote in the past few days, Coakley has a slight edge, 47% to 41%. * Coakley also has a big advantage among those who made up their mind more than a month ago. * Seventy-six percent (76%) of voters for Brown said they were voting for him rather than against Coakley. * Sixty-six percent (66%) of Coakley voters said they were voting for her rather than against Brown. * 22% of Democrats voted for Brown. That is generally consistent with pre-election polling."
Let's hope the Massholes saved America.

Boots-On-The-Ground is on his way to career enhancement.. first class to Haiti.
If Brown wins, will it be called an earthquake or a tsunami or a whirlwind?A brownout for Dems, a power surge for the GOP.
From a CNN commentator (token right-wing guy I think, but didn't see his name): "In 2008, voters proved they weren't racists. In 2009 and now 2010, voters proved they weren't socialists, either."
Brown up by 3% with 7% of precincts reporting...gonna be a long night.Win or lose, it means that the People will no longer stand to have Obama shove his agenda down their throats.
Maybe Martha Coakley will move to New York and run to be Senator in Hillary Clinton's seat. Everbody else does it.

Sorry about being late.Boots On the Ground here, how are you? I am great.Independents are what is going to win this for Brown. Believe it or not like 50% of the voters here are independent. I am even an indpendent. Voted for Weld, Celluci, Romney, etc.My polling place was very nice. Cute, even. I want to see my first live tea party person but didn't. AP: Usual GOP attempts to commit fraud at the polls dismissed by Mass Secy of State:A spokesman for Secretary of State William Galvin said Tuesday two reports of spoiled ballots could not be verified or found to be widespread. In one case, someone voting in Cambridge claimed a ballot had already been marked for Republican Scott Brown. There was no way to verify the claim, but the ballot was destroyed. In another case, a person in Boston reported finding a ballot inside a privacy folder also marked for Brown. Officials say it may have been left inadvertently by an earlier voter.
Gateway is close to calling it for Brown (look at Meade's poll results above).

There once were some folks for Nantucket,Who narrowly preferred Coakley...Island voters cast 2,139 ballots for Democrat Martha Coakley, while Republican Scott Brown garnered 2,032 votes. Joseph Kennedy, no relation to the late Senator, received just 58 votes.

If this is true we can finally smash the phony Kennedy legacy. There will be a fresh, new breeze in Massachusetts. One that does not reek of the stench of crime, corruption, and booze. Of course, the night is till young and the skinny skank has not sung.Fat lady is so un-PC and this is the 21st Century!
This calls for a celebratory DUH!
I have been watching Olbermann, because his tears are so delicous. They had a live shot of Matthews in some bar with two "sad" ladies on either side of him in the background. Then they panned out and people are laughing, making faces at Matthews, and even the "sad" women go out of character and one of them starts talking on her cell phone and doing the Carol Burnett pulling of the ear thing. It was awesome.
Gloria Borgers, usually uninteresting, says in a column on CNN.com that "Americans trust government less now than they did after Watergate."She doesn't cite a source, so I can't tell if she's referring to some empirical data or just conjecturing. But if that's true, then Obama and the congressional leadership didn't just misread the public mood. They had it translated into a dead language.
We are the Champions!
I've been watching MSNBC since about 8:50PM EST. There's a lot of "proactive" election results analysis which strongly implies that Brown has won it. Now, I must tell you that I choose MSNBC hoping to hear a few mea culpas from the gang of drooling cretins who pass for journalists on that minor league news outlet -- something along the lines of "Yeah, we blew it. We thought America actually wanted the socialist bullshit we routinely peddle here at MSNBC. But Scott Brown's remarkable win here tonight in the Bay State has shown us the light."But Nooooo... I've just witnessed the most inane, the most incoherent, the most astounding stream of mind rot ever offered on television since Pee-Wee's Playhouse was canceled.Chris Mathews explained to Oblermann that the reason Coakley lost is because she failed to advocate Obama's 1984-esque Big Brother statist vision for America with a sufficiently friendly face!!!These people are absolutely without contact with the material plane. If the kind of thinking I witnessed on MSNBC is typical of the Democrats (and former law student's fraud ravings reinforce my perception) then I conclude they are, as an institution, as out to lunch as any political party has been since the Nazis convened in that Berlin bunker back in '45.The Dems are sooo f'ed!
They're calling it for Brown, eh? Wow. I was not expecting that--deliberately keeping my hopes down. This is funny:I just went on Google News to check what folks are saying, and the very first story on the main page was a piece from the Washington Post titled "Massachusetts race wasn't a referendum on health-care reform."Spin, spin, spin away.
You know who is pissed tonight, Ben Nelson. He sold his sould and ruined his political career for a bill that won't even pass and a bribe he won't ever be able to collect on.
Washington Post has called it for Brown

Coakley Concedes- Video Here
AP called it for Brown 3 minutes ago.As to Jeremy?C'mon everyone. Only engage Jeremy going forward by telling him you won't respond unless he answers for what he wrote here: what are you little tea bagging babies going to do if brown loses?i can't wait.Seriously. If you're tired of him and can't wait to say something in response to Jeremy, here's something to sink your teeth into:"Hey Jeremy - you lost. Before anyone answers you on anything, what have you got to say about how wrong you were then?" Stay consistent and you'll hit a target, no matter what he tries to say, guaranteed.Troll or not, visitors here will get it.And, Congratulations!
Meade, I'm so sorry -- I am not yet on Althouse "totally". I'll be back in a bit, but yes, the concession came from Coakley on the phone to Brown. :)
GROUP HUG TO ALL WHO WANT ONE!!!
I'll speak for JeremyActually, some might recall that Jeremy thought the election would pivot on the disclosure that Brown's campaign did not buy health insurance for its employees. He breathlessly announced this news would "disqualify" Brown. It's amazing. A whole political philosophy assembled like Frankenstein's monster from a bunch of lame, half-baked "gotchas." That's not just Jeremy, but much of the netroots. Although, I have to admit, a few of the leading netroots bloggers have been tuned into this election as much as anyone in the independent and conservative camps. Jame Hamsher, Chris Bowers, Taylor Marsh, kudos to you. You didn't buy the crap Obama spin.
Today is my birthday, and after the cards my kids made for me, the best present was hearing that Coakley just called Brown and conceded.
Acording to Reuters, Coakley conceded to Brown:BOSTON (Reuters) - Democrat Martha Coakley conceded the U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts to Republican Scott Brown on Tuesday, dealing a sharp blow to President Barack Obama and casting doubt on the fate of a sweeping healthcare overhaul, NBC News said..
AP called it for Brown.
Don't get too cocky; as fls reminds us, the vast and powerful Massachusetts Republican party has its thumb on the scale. Wouldn't be wise to read anything into this, especially since the President himself didn't come down and campaign on her behalf or anything, and nobody brought up the 60th vote on health care AT ALL.
This is Excitable Andy's latest (about 10 minutes ago) blog entry:Coakley Is Strong In BostonLooking through the current reporting, it's striking that Coakley's margins are huge in Boston - roughly two to one. There are a lot of votes in Boston and the final tally is not in yet. As I said, this is closer than I expected. But it is a Brown win.
They're calling it for Brown, eh? Wow. I was not expecting that--deliberately keeping my hopes down.No SHIT. Boy. I wonder what Arlen Specter is thinking about now. "Hey, guys? It was all a big joke, can I come back into the Republican caucus?"
Andrew Sullivan might have to leave Cape Cod. Too many nihilists! So where did Sullivan predict Brown would win by more than 7 percent? He sucks at the expectations game. You have to first have a prediction of a double-digit win, only then you can say it was "surprisingly close."

Too bad we still had to pay for both trips.Do you think even after all these failures (in your face failures) that this young man has accepted that he might be mortal? I don't think so. Not yet.
The Massachusetts minute men have stood their ground and said to Obama and Pelosi "You LIE"! Now let's see how The Obamanation psych-ologists spins this election. The spin will be that the race meant nothing about health care or Obama, but just a loss due to a lackluster campaigner. Then they'll double down, and try to rush the health care bill through. The question is whether Democrats facing a fall election will believe Obama and their Congressional leaders that the public will be happy come November, as the economy will surely be better by then. The actual voter message seems obvious to me, and it ain't about being happy with their efforts thus far.I'm curious why they seem able to believe their own hype.
Democrat Senator Jim Webb says "Seat Brown now"Sen. Jim Webb (D., Va.) tells CNN: It would "only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Brown is seated." "In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process. It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated."But Sen. Reid says not so fast: "We welcome Scott Brown to the Senate and will move to seat him as soon as the proper paperwork has been received"
