Reasons you won't that you have likely heard before:
1. You are a centrist.
2. You have an education beyond a 4 year liberal arts degree it took you 7 years to get. To many conservatives, that makes you a very suspicious character..
3. You are not from the South, though many people forget Delaware is culturally a lot more like Virginia or rural Maryland than it is another Vermont.
4. You don't believe in the 6,000 year old Earth, creationism, or having a Down's baby is a prolife blessing given by Jesus...Worrisome stuff to a true deepsouth Conservative who 90 years earlier was an ignorant and proud of it, Wilson Democrat..
5. Many True Believers who still think Dubya was Our Beloved American Churchill, that Jesus and free markets will always deliver cheap abundant oil, a right to dump waste in rivers is a now-trammeled and broken by Gummint right, and global warming doesn't exist because they saw frost in October...Also really disliked McCain as well and they are in contention for Conservative Blogress Diva.
But they didn't vote for a Negro instead of the hated McCain!!
6. You are artsy. You know what conservatives think those people are like.

Elections always say more about the voters, than about the candidate who wins. Do you really believe that you share very much with the GAR (great American rabble)? Do you want to share very much with them?
Who won last year? We can help deconstruct what it takes to win, to better position the professor to next year.
Will Althouse's newlywed state increase her chances or lower them? Do gays make up the bulk of the voters? Or do all candidates let their readers know of the vote?
