How Radovan Karadzic hid himself.

With a new look, he "lived a strikingly public life practicing alternative medicine and writing for a health magazine" in Belgrade, WaPo reports.

Did he deliver presents to good boys and girls?

He looks like Dr Weil's evil twin.

He definitely has better hair than John Kerry.

Oh goodie goodie-now we can watch the International Court of Justice screw up this prosecution just like they did with Milosevich. Someone just take the bastard out and put a 45 ACP between his eyes (a task for which I would gladly volunteer). That will save the cost of thousands of EU bureaucrats, human rights weenies, and assorted other nutcases, as well as making the world a better place.

I always knew that Jerry Garcia was a war criminal.

That fucking ice cream sucks. Stick with butter pecan.

If Michael Caine grew fat, and a beard, he'd look like that.

If he is to be executed, he’ll need to be poisoned, shot, clubbed, drowned and frozen.

Have you noticed that two maniacal homicidal genocidal murdering bastards like Saddam and Karadzic grow beards whilst fugitives?

Maybe using reverse logic we should be looking for the only clean-shaven guy in Waziristan, for Osama.

I don't know if I like that implication. Al Gore and Bill Richardson also grew beards while fugitives from the political scene. :)

One thing he didn't get rid of though.

Look at his left eye.

He still has the evil eye.

Just proves what I've always said,

Scratch the surface of most any 'new age' 'alternative medicine' 'healer', and you'll probably find a genocidal maniac.

(OK, I've never actually said that, but I've thought it a few times)

Don't forget Al Gore. Bad things happen in threes.

looking more like an aging hippie than a key organizer of Europe's most murderous conflict since the end of World War II.

So my gut-level suspicion of aging hippies is actually well-founded.

Palladian, first thing I thought was "Dr. Weil". The man who built an empire on "drink lots of water."

Boing Boing has a regular contributor, Jasmina Teranovic, who's chronicled the trial of the Serbian Scorpions among other things related to Serbia and Bosnia. She's got something up about this:

My neighbor Radovan Karadzic.

That's okay, Eli. I think you guys are safe from the implication.

Just keep an eye on Dubya for a 5 o'clock shadow.

Cheers,

Great link, blake.

I'm proud to report I got nine out of ten.

It seems I’d spot Hannibal Lecter in seconds at an Open Source conference.

But they’re wrong about my liver.

It's not safe.

Not safe at all.

P.S. John Christie can bite me!!!

That's a combination I doubt you'll have again.

I say hand him over to the families of the people he murdered. I'm sure they will meet out justice better than any lame war crimes tribunal.

Saturday Night Live, or some show reported to me over breakfast in the 70s, had Hitler on the run in South America registering in a hotel under the name ``Hilter.''

Male criminals and sociopaths can grow beards and practice 'alternative' medicine to escape, but what of women? Few can grow beards, and none can hide in them, except in circuses (hey! wait a minnit....).

Doesn't Betsey Johnson seem to be hiding in plain sight? How else to explain it?
I'm guessing she was in the Weathermen.

Andrea Dworkin? Former serial killer, became a rampaging feminist.

Billy Tipton? A femme fatale spying for the Germans in the US during World War 2, she became a male jazz musician.

Slobbo got a 3 room apartment suite maintained by a local 4-Star hotel for his 5 years awaiting trial while Jewish leaders of human rights NGOs, and hundreds of extremely well-paid "international jurists" tried to jump on the case as an endlessly giving source of employment or fundraising. Slobbo could have milked it more and then been jailed a national hero if he hadn't messed up his meds.

Not that the modern version of US justice is any better since it is also a system of by and for the advancement and enrichment of lawyers, activists, and moneyed elites. Neither swift nor sure anymore. Its family courts bigoted against males, it's civil system a crapshoot run by trial lawyers and trial lawyers in robes with the loaded dice.

It took 50 million to prosecute McVeigh and he didn't fight the charges. And almost a hundred FBI agents diverted from counter-terror to becoming discovery paperwork scutboys and gals for lawyers -from 1996-2000.

Moussaoui's conviction required taxpayers fork over 33 million to lawyers..

Not that I'm disagreeing with you on the cost(s) of prosecutions with regards to high profile cases. But if you are going to make the case that prosecutions need to become balanced with regards to their costs, then you would be throwing the legal system into utter chaos. Can you imagine a prosecutor sitting at his desk with a murder case in front of him and enough evidence to throw the book at the defendant, but because of certain circumstances would be enduring a long, drawn out court battle at a cost to the tax payers that would be in the millions, does he dare not pursue it because of monetary reasons? Imagine that happening in a small town with limited funds. You can't base what to prosecute and what not to prosecute based on the cost. It would be ruinous I think.

I saw an old cartoon with Hitler and someone else on a South American porch, and the non-Hitler guy says, "Awww, quit bitching about it, it's been years already!"
