It's New York, so the beautiful snow has devolved into rain.

But people here in Brooklyn Heights have their defense against the wetness and the dreariness:

Looks like Chicago last week before the chill set in again.

We walk through the streets, the streets of the city
And we don't, we don't even know it,
That whatever our drama, whatever our crisis,
All around us the city protects us.

Are there any happy, little bluebirds in Brooklyn Heights today?

It does that way.

Freezing rain and sleet here. It's a solid sheet of ice outside. And we're just 200 miles due west of NYC.

Titus, you're right. I'd forgotten. New Yorkers carry umbrellas for snow, so naturally they had them when the snow turned to rain.

"Devolved"? I say rain is the higher state. Then vapor.

Snow changing to rain in New York City is as inevitable as Republican Congressmen being indicted.

These photos remind me of the pictures taken in Paris around 1900, raining, lots of umbrellas... Shoot, I can't remember the artist! Help me out here.

Maybe so! Or perhaps my memory throws in a little Steiglitz too.
