Killing the brilliant architects.

In the name of research. Quite justifiably, I think! The results are impressive.

The Egyptians did the same thing to the pyramid designers, I recall. At least the ants didn't have to dwell on their impending doom. But the lack of ant afterlife is a drag.

I hope he's made several casts of fire ant nests!

I swear I saw some show in which these molds were made from molten metal, not plaster.

Maybe it was a different guy.

I'm thinking it would be cool to do these casts in melted chocolate. Then at least you could eat the ants, which might assuage the guilt of having killed them.
